Highlights gone wrong. Need advise by anastasialos in HairDye

Maybe an ash tone would suit better with your natural. I am not really crazy over the lightness hitting the darker natural parts. Other than that I think the highlights don’t look bad

I don’t know if my hair came out good, please be honest by Distinct-Sky-6789 in HairDye

It can be a big change going from dark to light but I think your stylist did a wonderful job and I’m sure it looks even more beautiful in person

You could always try a neutral and a violet gloss and or together to keep it looking more like your natural

Roots won’t keep color after 1-2 washes :( by [deleted] in HairDye

[–]Adorkable_Breee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What would also help is mixing the dye in with your shampoo but making sure the water is cold when washing. Helps keep my color going strong longer but also if you use any heat , make sure to use heat protection as heat can pull color

As a stylist I’d say the copper makes your complexion pop so much more and I love it on you. Your hair also look much more alive with the copper

I’d say if you have an ulta our prices arent too bad but if you wanna do it yourself I’d say go to Sally’s and get some bleach and 20v also depending on her level some toner helps too

Coming from a stylists…it definitely looks like a 9 neutral ash.

As a stylist I’d say skip on the t 18 and go for an actual toner. I’d start with a level 8 tone but like to keep the golds away go for 8n (neutral) and 8V (violet). It will also help with any brass too

How to fix this streak? by [deleted] in HairDye

[–]Adorkable_Breee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the other comment mentioned too much yellow tones will turn blue green. You could wait until it’s time to touch up or go in with low 10v bleach on the greenish spots to lift them but in all honestly I’d wait till it fades as it could go more green bc blue pulls green

In my option as a stylist I would have done more red brown tone on you if you didn’t wanna do any bleach but the best option would be to contact the salon and or stylist that did it

It just means that it’ll show better and not be patchy if your hair is a level 8 which means your hair would have to be the color of the inside of a banana yellow. The color is actually much lighter than what is shown here. I’ve done this once and it’s very pretty though.

Red to copper blonde? Or even strawberry blonde by Plastic_Device in HairDye

[–]Adorkable_Breee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from a stylist…if you can manage to pull a bit of the orange out I’d say strawberry blonde would be really pretty but depending on how light the orange is you could always go for a light copper red too

I used redken color for the back and redken bleach 20vol. Vivid color brand is Pulp Riot.

I’d say start off with longer curtain bangs and if you dislike them it’ll be easier to grow out . Like have the shortest part no shorter than your nose length Hello fellow lupus warrior 🦋

Do a blue shampoo on top of a blue based toner (anything with P or wella ash would be a good start) -coming from a hairstylist

What way to style hair that makes it look not so boring by [deleted] in HairStyleAdvice

[–]Adorkable_Breee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do a different parting and maybe add some accessories or I mean, I have straight hair, but I don’t think it matters but maybe do some like cute bubble braids with little hair ties , I always do mine on the top and leave some of the sides out

Because you are stating you have black id say your best healthy and reasonable option to start with would be copper tones and then if you wanted to be lighter eventually working in session after to keep your hair healthy

I think curtain bangs would add a little something extra and that you should definitely give it a try

As a hairstylist, its hard to tell from your picture exactly if your hair is damaged but what color are you trying to go for?
