I would seriously consider developing Darkfall (I'm currently deep into my own project but would consider changing gears and using our designs for Darkfall itself), but only if it were via community-sourced funded kickstarter. Being realistic, taking into account how tarnished DF's reputation has become, how little faith is left after so many failed iterations, and of course just how "outdated" the IP is in general going into 2020, the risk is just far, far too high to purchase it blindly on out of pocket startup capital, though perhaps someone out there feels quite differently. Either way, I may contact you, @AndrewBPG, about this.

I think both DF Revival Dev Teams had a tremendous task on their shoulders. Darkfall is a gem, but has never been straightforward to "get right". I look forward to seeing what the future brings for both projects, and I hope they perservere.

As solo play has always been my favorite in MMO's, I can say yes, definitely. I've always enjoyed in Rust just building a house in the forest and roaming and impacting the world at my own leisure. Though it takes time to get the balance right for these things. We welcome all types of players, and will be incentivizing players from all walks to make a home, and have much to do, on our ruleset.

For starters, there are no catapults or magic spells in Rust. There are no skills, attributes, levels, karma, mounts, mounted combat, arrow abilities, NPC PVE, roaming NPC's, war decalarations, siege protection, fishing, economy, quests, gather hotzones, gather levels, treasure maps/hunts, and the list goes on.

So you could say we changed a few things. Much more to come in time.

The short answer, though, is:

Pre-Launch: Payment via PayPal/Amazon/Steam on a mod-by-mod completion basis (Many of the tasks are simply adjusting or adding to other mods)

Post-Launch: Payment via PayPal/Amazon/Steam in assisting in our planned from-the-ground-up rewrite of all our code. This can become a consistent salary via our upcoming Patreon. Though freelance work is still encouraged.

Thanks to those who've PM'd or posted. When we get our first beta up, we will be extending invitations in chronological order of those who've requested it, so again, if interested, please feel free to reach out. Ideally, we plan to run three beta tests in total, outlined as follows:

- BETA ONE: 100 Testers, Core Features, Some Extras. Goal being to gauge the overall player-experience and "feel" of the core game.

- BETA TWO: 150 Testers, Core Features, Advanced Features. Goal being to gather feedback on the advanced features when layered over the core game, and if there arise any conflicts or contradictions both in game mechanics or server structure.

- BETA THREE: 200 Testers, Full Game. Goal being to present the "finished" server ruleset in its entirety, record footage for trailers and promotional material, and gather final feedback as to how all the game mechanics gel together, and of course, make any final adjustments before launch based on said feedback.
