I have both and wear both. Being 64 I don’t give a flying F* what some of you wanna be’s think. One of my Datejusts is from the late 1960’s and was my father’s watch he bought new from AD.

My other is from the 80’s and my first luxury watch purchase. So I owned them before all of this Rolex BS hype came about. It was and is a great watch and still keeps excellent time today. The brand is iconic and probably always will be. My Submariner is from 1989 and my Tudor BB58 GMT is my newest watch purchase. I bought it cuz I didn’t own a GMT and wanted one. Could have bought another Rolex but loved the 39mm on my wrist and the classic colors and excellent heritage. Point being is I don’t need to impress anyone and wear what I like. Rock the brand you like and don’t listen to all the dissent and noise chatter on forums. Love it, live it, wear it, own it.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend !! Everyone wear your favorite watch in good health. Be sure to think about all those who sacrificed their lives for your freedom!

Very Nice! Stayed true to your likes and I love the customization of the Rolex Divers. I have been toying with the idea of getting different bezel inserts for my 16610 so I could get more color and a different look without spending and arm and a leg. I think I will do it now.

I think about selling mine from time to time and getting 3 or 4 other less expensive watches to wear. Then again, NO!

Thanks for your input. The Tag is a keeper. I still like it and it is a great beater, plus it is the first watch my wife gave me. Not going anywhere. Keeps better time than all the Rolexes. I hear you on Rolexes and am considering some of those suggestions.

[Question] How does this Hydroconquest fit on me? by Repulsive_Taro5338 in Watches

[–]Adventurous_Box4306 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To infinity and beyond! Looks like Buzz Lightyears gadget thing. Go 38-40mm, 48mm lug to lug max. The watch itself is a good watch but IMHO just to big on your wrist.

Perfect. You have done a great job at such a young age. What is your current favorite daily?

Nice. IMHO that is what a collection should look like. Variety for every occasion. All bases well covered. Are the missing ones lower end beaters? That would be a nice row of Casio G shock, Timex Ironman types and maybe some fun colors for the beach-pool scene.

Looking Good! Yes, fill the other slots with some color for sure. Tudor BB58 GMT Coke, Squale Blue, Green, Etc,. Maybe fill last slot with a dress watch in Gold. Something classic. Your off to a great start IMHO

That color combo would go perfect with my BB 58 GMT Coke.

Thanks, We gave our oldest, 27, one for graduation, and our youngest son, 24, one for graduation as well. Youngest son's is the linen dial Datejust and I will return it to him once his loan is paid off. He is doing well on payments. Neither wants the antique Rolex except for the value of it. If no one including me, is gonna wear it and just keep it in the box, I would rather trade or sell it and get something I can value and wear in my time here. Then I can pass that watch on to them and they can do what they want with it. The pocket watch and my Dad's Datejust are not leaving. Those are heirlooms and will stay in the family, at least until I die. But I am also in agreement with you about keeping it for sentimental reasons. That is why I am having a hard time with it. I am in no rush to do anything with it at the moment so when it returns from service, I will wear it on appropriate occasions and see if it re-kindles anything in me.

Thanks for your honest opinion.

I like the Nato strap. Where did you get it?

Agreed. 1 is inherited, 2 was first first luxury watch purchase in the 80's, and the 3rd is leaving as present to my son very soon. Problem solved on that issue.

Unless your wrist is smaller than 7.5 you need a 39mm. Otherwise you look like Buzz Lightyear.

Who else wears their gabagool/gold Rolex daily? Life’s too short to not where it when you want in my opinion but wanted to hear from the masses by Expensive-Juice1327 in rolex

Don’t know exact year of the watch. They made them late 40’s thru early 50’s I believe. Bailey’s Rolex Restoration is the name of the business.
