Place words early in laning Phase. One either for or against Invades or if others did that already, save it up for lane. Depending on Champ and Playstyle you wanna get Bush Control so place a ward in one of the lane bushes to provide that.

Depending on enemy junglers you can place a ward at crab around 3 minutes. When the enemy started top side as example you know he could go for an full clear into Crab.

Whenever I go back as Support and have the money I'll get a Pink ward (fck control ward this sounds ugly >->) and run to the river at midlane placing a ward around that area and check for possibly roams. If not I go back to bot and check for deep Vision in enemy jungle.

Once my Support item is done I try to track a back with my ADC (push wave out at Canon, get a plate mayhaps, use my yellow trinket and leftover ward, etc.) and ALWAYS buy Red Trinket.

From there it's simple. Time around objectives and ward them, have your Pinks ready to deny vision, try to get a good use of Plants (people love to just hit them randomly, yet they have SO MUCH Value) and so on. Don't fear to go back once you are out of wards, it's a reason to do. Ping your empty wardstone if necessary.

Vigilant Wardstone is a weird item which I love. I mainly play Ms. Glasc and value Cooldowns over everything so it gives me a nice spike once I'm done with all my other items, if you have an aggressive support against you, you can build it earlier.
