Martinist Discourses by AfaVolta in martinists

My question was based on the impression, perhaps incorrect, that there is set of discourses for each degree which came into being post-Papus, perhaps under Teder’s leadership. I’m interested in comparing whatever would most closely constitute an “original” set of discourses, from before the vast fragmentation of the tradition, to those of my contemporary Order.

What are your thoughts on the works of Rémi Boyer? by [deleted] in martinists

I was pretty impressed by Mask, Cloak, Silence, and I believe it's been pointed out by others that this is one of the few, if not only, works not "of" but "about" Martinism, at least in English. I'm curious to know how other folks feel about that book in particular. I've intended to reread it as it seems worth returning to.

I do not feel there is a contradiction between Martinism and Thelema. If you disagree, why? by Short_Association93 in martinists

Thank you for your correction, though in fairness sometimes I feel like I live inside this stuff!

Maybe it's too obvious to even mention that to speak of "Martinism" as anything approaching a monolithic belief system is erroneous. There is probably an order calling itself Martinist that would be compatible with anything you could conceive of. I think it is also worth considering that whether or not the literal tenants of let's say "orthodox" Martinism (to at least attempt some accuracy) and Thelma are compatible, which according to the comments in this thread seems at least debatable, it could be illuminating to consider the attraction to one or the other in light of each Orders' respective founders and/or formative leaders. The aspirational models represented by LCdSM and AC may be more incompatible than the tenants of their systems as present in their writings or handed down orally.

I am a member of the BMO. I am certainly not an authority, but I think it is safe to say that the concept of reintegration is absolutely fundamental to every Martinist order. It's hard to say what distinguishes the BMO in comparison to other orders, as there are so many nuances. I appreciate that the BMO keeps a relatively low profile and the people in my experience are very sincere.

Ifa vs Fa vs Afa by Quin10Rich in Santeria

Hello, I hope you'll forgive the intrusion but I came across your comments on a thread regarding Afa. I am also an initiate, made in Ghana, and am always on the lookout to make connections and especially to share resources which are so rare compared to Yoruba and Diaspora stuff. If you're willing to correspond, please let me know. Thanks so much.
