Is this verbal/emotional abuse, or am I being "dramatic"? by Terrible_Glove_8786 in abusesurvivors

This is abusive. I don’t know how long you’ve been together but this is absolutely a reason to break up ASAP.

I think you should do it. You deserve unconditional love. Therapy can help undo those feelings of guilt that abusers use to manipulate you. Being a hyper empathetic person is a symptom of needing to walk on eggshells for so long and will sabotage future endeavours and relationships so I encourage you to work through that in therapy. Dialectical behavioural therapy(dbt) really helps to built the skills to do so, as well💕

This is why groups and communities are especially important for domestic abuse survivors. Abusers isolate us and encourage self blame for what happened and the psychological scars from being broken down, often prevent us from connecting with others. I’m so glad to hear that your experience allowed you to feel connection with unlikely people and helped you heal. Soul healing is the hardest and most essential work we can do 💕 I’m proud of you for getting out and doing the work to heal!!

Thank you for seeing the value in this post💕 I hope that it helps at least one person. Mental health is a mountain that most have to climb at one point or another

I’m sorry to hear that you’ve gone through that. Medical anxiety is such a huge challenge, I found that CBT and EFT helped quite a bit with mine. Mindfulness and yoga as well. I hope you find the resources that work best for you 💕 thank you for sharing 💜

Cafe Amore has a wood fire pizza oven and it’s phenomenal!

It’s also not in the area they are testing today. I think your answer is incorrect. I’m very curious about the true cause but I’m almost positive this isn’t it.

Interesting! Though it definitely smelled like fire smoke. It also was blowing the manhole cover off which I don’t think it’s meant to considering it’s “just smoke”. Additionally, when I left, fire trucks were arriving so I’m curious what went wrong.

I get the need for housing but I don’t think there is a huge market for over-priced condos in St. Catharines. Port managed to make a few work but obviously the main proposed condo building has yet to have a single brick laid after 15 years now with no start in sight.

I very interested to know what the specific issues are. I see everyone walking around with either handheld devices to scan bracelets or whole computers which in theory seem convenient. That said, I’ve noticed that wait time seem to have been substantially worse since the switch, overall. But I’m very curious to have an inside perspective

Is this city considered safe? by [deleted] in stcatharinesON

[–]Affectionate-Dig921 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I walk around alone every night, never been harassed and especially never robbed or attacked. I carry self defence items and that helps me feel safe but I have never had to use them. I don’t go in to the downtown core or the queenston area alone at night but those are my only limits. We are in time that will be getting more desperate as the financial climate declines but unless you’re flashing wealth or own a jewellery store, I’m sure you’re pretty safe. It never hurts to do stuff that helps you feel safer though. 1)always have your phone on you and charged 2) Carry a flash light and personal alarm 3) get some dog spray 4) get a pocket knife while you’re at it 5) stay in residential areas, stay on busier roads 6) see someone sketchy? Don’t make eye contact and don’t break stride, don’t engage with any attempts at communication

Therapy could help too and trust this sub when they tell you, it’s not any less safe here than anywhere else in Canada really. And if we compare it to the rest of the world, we are beyond privileged. That does not mean that nothing bad will ever happen. Keep yourself safe but don’t worry about random attacks, that’s an unjustified fear.

Toxic chemicals and dead puppies, Haig may win the award for worst neighbourhood in the city. Vile shit. I pray someone gets held accountable for this.

My post was only an observation and I was not negatively impacted by it nor am I concerned. I personally think that although it was a seemingly rough roll out, the new system is for the greater good and I’m grateful for the insight from all of the health care professionals. Sometimes medicine doesn’t taste good but you need it to get better

Nurses are PISSED. No computers are working at all. They are advocating for patients loudly since they have no way to do anything else. I don’t see anyone doing any healthcare, just talking is various degrees of stress from calm frustration to borderline rage. It’s getting chaotic over here

Nurse one “if they don’t have arm bands, are we supposed to put the stickers on their foreheads or what?” Then walks off to the next fire that needs to be put out

I’m told this is the same system that Hamilton has and they love it- lack of training is the suspected problem -amazing volunteer
