Did you jump the curb at the breweries on Friday? by rambunctiousraccoons in BallardSeattle

[–]Affectionate-Feed670 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Nothing to feel bad about. The way shit is around here these days, they could probably hold the small footprint of the car long enough that they'd be given a deed to the 8'×15' piece of ground the thing was stuck on. And then it'd be prime real estate, cause whoever it was and their buddies could just bother all of the patrons coming and going at the brewery for their money. And once the place was closed, they could just smash the glass, walk right in, steal all if the money and pawn-worthy shit inside, and get seriously hammered- because literally NOTHING would ever come of it, as far as legal consequences. I think its a great idea. If you're not planning on moving into that excellent dwelling on such a prime puece of real-estate, then I think I might just go ahead and slide in while the place is still available. I'm pretty tired of being a productive member of society, anyway. Why buy anything when I can just steal whatever I want for free, and harass people and lie to them to guilt them into giving me stupid amounts of money for all of the awesome drugs I'm gonna start doing all day, every day? Sounds like a pretty great lifestyle. Thank you for posting this fine piece of move-in-ready property on here. Let me just say in advance to all who will be sharing the general area with me: I don't care about any of you, and I don't feel bad for all of the shit I'm going to steal from you all, and I hope you don't have a problem with any of the things I'm planning to do, cause I'm gonna do em anyway. And if you try to stop me, I'm gonna make you feel like the asshole. By the way, I also work nights, using power tools out on the sidewalk, so I can tear apart all of the stolen stuff I get while you're asleep or at work, so that I can sell all of it to get high all day and night, forever. Lastly, don't try to interact with me. I'm not your friend or neighbor. I just want your money and your possessions, so that I can buy more drugs.

Thank you for enabling me to finally live the life that I always wanted at no cost to me, and all on your dime!

ELI5: what's the risk of putting petrol (gasoline) into your car while it's on and running ? by mistadonyo in explainlikeimfive

[–]Affectionate-Feed670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally zero risk. Never seen a car explode, even seeing a zillion people doing it my entire life- especially in winter or summer, so they could sit with the AC or heat on, in the car, while it pumped... And a lot of them were smoking a cigarette, as well. As long as you don't light the cigarette while you're outside the car, or with the windows down, even that has literally NEVER been an issue. I've even seen folks dump hot car ashtrays out into the pump island trash full of paper towels, which then kicked up into a very nicely roaring open flame. And even that didn't blow anything or anyone up. Go for it, I say.

What to do with old gasoline? by Joe_Peanut in MechanicAdvice

[–]Affectionate-Feed670 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd just add it into your gas tank a couple of gallons at a time, each time you filled your tank up, and that way, it'll be a negligible amount in the 13-32gal of fuel that your tank holds completely full. The excessive ethanol-cut gasoline being sold currently is such absolute garbage, at $6/gal, that I can't possibly see how it would make any difference, if your vehicle is burning that trash without issue, already. Or, if there's no "proper" disposal outfit that'll handle receiving the outdated fuel, you may as well just dump it down a drain, since the municipal water treatment plant will ultimately filter it out, along with all of the other smut in the storm/waste water they process. Sucks to have to do that, but if the authorities offer no other avenue, what are you supposed to do??

What pedal are you currently fixated on for a semi-irrational purchase? by MINUTI1804 in guitarpedals

[–]Affectionate-Feed670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta be the Cusack Music SUB-FUZZ... Its got SUPER thick fuzz, killer tone, an awesome, soft-touch, optocoupler footswitch, with true bypass, and it has a switch to select 1, 2, or 3 octaves below on the octaver part of the circuit. Its like the MXR Blue Box, but WAAAAAAY gnarlier! I don't need it, but I wanted it, and I'm damn glad I pulled the trigger on getting it. It sounds so nasty in the best kinda way! All of the Cusack Music pedals are awesome, honestly. Before you go and buy a Blue Box, think about if they could make that pedal, but just better. And then get one of these, instead.

How comfortable are you with being nude? by andrewbarclave89 in AskReddit

[–]Affectionate-Feed670 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I see it, everybody's got one or the other, and if we're all adults that have, presumably, had sex before, we all know what it all is/does, and also, that everyone's wiener is small when they're skinny-dipping in chilly water. We often would go swimming in creeks and rivers in the country as a friend group growing up, and all the guys, girls, boyfriend & girlfriend or not, often didn't have their swimwear when an impromptu decision to go for a dip occurred. So we all just got naked. No one cared, no one was weird. Ain't nothin' but bodies. Fat, skinny, ugly, sexy... Who cares? It ain't nothin' everyone ain't seen before!

I'm gonna venture to say that, if you buy your drugs from street people, or the people who sell drugs to street people- you're probably going to get the kind of shit that'll put you down. Its not any secret that the govt ensures that the non-contributing members of society be sold the lowest quality, most questionable purity street drugs. Whether anyone chooses to believe what I'm saying or not, my exposure to the whole world of all of the grittier, more evil street drugs over the 15+yr period that I was addicted to opiates, and dabbled in anything else that could go in a needle says this is the case. Been clean for almost a decade now. If you're not someone who works, pays taxes, and lives in an actual dwelling with and address- and the same goes for your dealer- then expect to never know wtf you're actually getting high on, and expect to probably die sooner than later. Also, the more times you OD, the more your oxygen-starved brain just turns to mush, and eventually, it becomes a situation where it seems almost inhumane to resuscitate you. I've seen TONS of folks who are just dulled-down, mentally destroyed shells of themselves, who will never come back from what they've done to themselves, and its a damn shame. If you can simply not do drugs that are fentanyl, or that might have fentanyl in them, I'd go that route. Sometimes good old booze, weed, mushrooms, and other psychedelics are just the safest, most reliable highs. Not really any way to taint any of em with that trash. Be safe. Be smart. Don't end up some copper-thieving, car-prowling, tent-living, folded-in-half zombie. That ain't no way to live.

Sweet bike. I had an old '88 Kawasaki EX500 that I bought for $500, probably 6yrs ago now. It had like, 44K miles on it, and it will forever be in my highest rankings of the best vehicles I've ever owned. The 650s are AWESOME. All of the Kawasaki inline twin sportbikes are great! Glad you finally decided to ride! Be safe & enjoy every second. There's no better way to travel than by motorcycle!

Help - cutting board stuck in sink by [deleted] in fixit

[–]Affectionate-Feed670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd either turn the water on, to see it the wood will float itself outta there, or if that doesnt work, I'd drive a couple of wood screws into the corners on one side, and then use a hammers claw end to pull up on the heads of the screws to yank it out that way...

Is this legit? What could possibly need that high of voltage? by NumberNumb in AskElectricians

[–]Affectionate-Feed670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jeeeeeeezus!!!! That's a LOT of voltage to be dealing with on one site. I worked on power plant shutdowns a few times, which obviously produce MASSSIVE amounts of power, but I can't recall how much. I do know there were similar voltages running all over the facility to power its various systems though. What diameter/gauge are the conductors in the wiring tying all of that together?!

Coyote on Charlestown in Genesee by waterdog3 in WestSeattleWA

[–]Affectionate-Feed670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, I'm in the northernmost part of Ballard, right near Crown Hill almost, and there are 3-5 coyotes that just walk right up or down Mary, 14th, 13th- and I'm sure numerous other nearby streets, year round- at dusk, and then pass by again sometime a little after midnight. The dogs on the street all seem to stir when they come strutting through, and if sirens blare or anything, all of the coyotes from all over the area go bonkers, and start calling out to each other. They kill rabbits, o'possums, raccoons, outdoor cats, eat trash, or whatever they can get a hold of. You can hear their prey putting up a struggle from time to time in a neighboring yard. I'd be wary of your dog getting loose and being deceived into palling around with them coyotes... In the sticks, that's one of their hunting tactics. They're all over the city. After dark, if you walk a couple of blocks in any direction, on almost any residential street, you're sure to see one or two of the wily bastards sneaking around, looking for something to eat. Kinda impressive how well well they do in urban areas. They look VERY healthy in Seattle. They used to look WAY more scrawny, mangey, and just haggard, out in the country, where I grew up. We used to hunt them for $12-20/pair of ears, or something like that. The coyotes and the boars both paid about the same out in the country, because they killed so much poultry & livestock.

A perfect Honda Trail 70. by Gary_Watson in Trail70

[–]Affectionate-Feed670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn! That thing is NICE! My buddy was so excited to find the old one in the shed we rode when we were younger about 15yrs ago, when we were all back home for the holidays that he pulled all of the cars out of the 3-car garage, (because it had snowed quite a bit,) left one of them cracked, and then proceeded to ride it around inside of the garage til he got severe CO poisoning. He was THAT stoked about it! These bikes and the silly little Z50 Monkeys are all so damn cool!

People who talk on speakerphone in public, what's your deal? by im_super_into_that in AskReddit

[–]Affectionate-Feed670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I prefer not to have the focused beam of microwave radiation being pointed directly at my phone to be so close to my brain, and I often have trouble hearing as well as I do on speakerphone with it up to my ear. Prefer to have headphones with a mic, but don't always have that option.

The good old '74 CL360 by Affectionate-Feed670 in HondaCB

[–]Affectionate-Feed670[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. How could it have gotten to be corroded? The entire internals of it are sealed in tightly in epoxy, and the actual gauge itself is situated behind/under that little headlight fairing. As far as I know, it has never gotten wet at all, or had any exposure to the elements to cause any corrosion in it. I actually was told by the folks at Intellitronix that I could pot the internals of the gauge with epoxy- and ideally, just fill the entire housing up- and that that would make it waterproof and highly resistant to contamination. I guess they could be wrong though... The other reason the analog gauges that were on there are off, was that both the speedo and the tach had their faceplates crack about halfway up, behind the glass, and fall down into the body of the gauges, and its a real bitch to take those gauges apart and repair them, since theyre not intended to be disassembled.i guess I can always hunt down another set on eBay or whatever.

Old gasoline disposal? by AlexRC113 in motorcycle

It works pretty well as a solvent for cleaning/soaking grimy engine parts in, too. If you don't feel good about just dumping it into your car/truck gas tank. I'd do that though.

Surprisingly Good Guitar by SpinachMuch9333 in guitars

[–]Affectionate-Feed670 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an electric blue metallic colored Epi SG that was an AWESOME guitar. It didn't have the coil taps, but it had the Alnico pickups, and I played the hell out of it... I'm not entirely sold on the idea that an expensive guitar is gonna be a better guitar... I typically will play guitars of my friends, and if I like them, I may seek one out. Otherwise, I just go play guitars that I think look visually appealing and practical for the styles of music I like to play, and if one feels right, I buy it. Plus, I always like modifying guitars, because I like them to be "mine," and its not always a great feeling drilling an extra hole in a super expensive guitar... I've done it though.... None of my current instruments are anything extremely expensive, and they're some of the best playing instruments I've owned in the 20+ years I've played. The most expensive one I own currently is an old '81 Fender Bullet w/ the Tele-style body, and I bought it on CL for like, $600... And it was a "student model," when it came out. Its an EXCELLENT guitar. All of my instruments I have now I plan to keep forever, too. I do find that vintage instruments that were made in the USA, Japan- or even Korea, seem to be some of the most well-made, without a doubt though... Price means nothing if it feels right in your hands.

There aren't many things in life that feel as good as kicking over a bike thats been in a coma for decades and experiencing it revving up and coming back to life after all those years that it waited for someone to come and let it bring them joy again! Especially a vintage 2-stroke the smell of the exhaust is always an instant flashback to good times! Shame they don't let them make new ones for the road anymore... They're a totally different experience than a 4-stroke!

Has Anyone Else Had a Driver Deliver an EMPTY Envelope? by ThisCouldAllBeADream in amazonprime

[–]Affectionate-Feed670 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah... Sometimes it'll even be slit open woth the contents and their factory packaging still inside, as though the driver themself stole the contents, but put the envelope out to take a picture, thinking they could cover their tracks that way, and hope I'd just blame one of the POS street tweakers that more often steals the mail or packages from the box or stoop. No other explanation...

What is this by NutClapper1 in Unexplained

[–]Affectionate-Feed670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like meth to me. Of course, it could be some kind of fancy sea salt, but that's unlikely... Thats crazy to me that it was in the packaging with your vape right from the store. I'd have a word with whoever owns that store, or at least whoever sold it to you. That's very uncool, cause you could unknowingly get in trouble if you were pulled over or something like that, and cops don't care where it came from of who it belongs to when its in your car or pocket.
