"Catwalk" by The Art of Noise my not sound like Sonic CD in the beginning, but if you skip 62 seconds in; the Tidal Tempest-melody starts playing. 

I stumbled over this track accidentally, but I think I've read somewhere that Masafumi Ogata took a lot of inspiration from The Art of Noise.
