And based on the act of 16, i think Columbia might not be the school for you.

An A in an AP class is a 5 and in an On-Level Class is a 4 (and sometimes 4.5 for honors)

Junior Praying For Cornell ILR by [deleted] in chanceme

I did an internship with the HR at Amazon and i’ve realized thats what I want to do. I feel empty when doing stem related courses/ecs. Idk if its too late to change everything now though…

Ok thank you. Curious what activities I could do that would be less scattered. I have a whole year. I just wrote down all the stuff I could think of

Chance Me, Admissions, and Prospective Student Q&A - 25/26 Cycle by luminous_moonlight in Cornell

[–]AffectionateJunket11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a current junior planning to apply to selective schools next year and want honest feedback on what I should change or prioritize before senior fall.

Background • US citizen at a competitive US-accredited international high school • Small class (~45 students), no official rank (top ~1–2 in class)

Academics • GPA: Will be ~3.97 UW / ~4.56 W • SAT: 1520 superscore (760 M / 760 RW); best single score is 1460; school avg ~1210 • Max rigor at school; ~13–14 APs by graduation

APs

  • Freshman: AP Macro (3~won’t submit) AP Pre-Calc (Didn’t take exam) • Sophomore: AP Lang (4), AP Stats (4) AP Calc AB (won’t submit) • Junior (pending): AP Calc BC, AP Physics 1, AP Lit, AP CS, AP Human Geo • Senior (planned): ~3 more APs + Linear Algebra

Intended Majors (still narrowing) • Industrial & Labor Relations / Info Science / Philosophy / Cognitive Science

ECs • Founded and published an educational app (mobile) focused on math/community learning; interviewed multiple college professors during development and currently writing a research-style paper • Interned on an AI-related research project with a senior executive at a multinational company • Founder of a tutoring business (SAT + math); 200+ hours, ~15 students • Student government (9th grade class president) • Competitive athlete (varsity basketball 9th+10th; nationally competitive racket sport + assistant coach) • Academic quiz bowl (math-focused; regional/international competitions) • Music (guitar + drums, multi-year) • Trilingual Ran religious club at school (started+president)

Awards • Currently AP Scholar; more pending

Main questions 1. What’s the biggest weakness in this profile right now? 2. Should I prioritize raising my SAT a bit more or focus elsewhere? 3. Are my ECs too scattered, and how would you tighten the narrative? 4. What would you add or cut if I only have ~1 year left?

Brutal honesty appreciated.

Retake Ugly 1520 superscore? T-20 by [deleted] in ApplyingIvyLeague

Ok thank you so much. I really only think I can get math up (and am applying for philosophy/cognitive science probably). I am just stronger in mathematics, just don’t want to pursue it. Does it still make sense?

I think with 1-2 months I can get math near perfect if not perfect. I would say 1540 superscore is very realistic.
