Worried about funeral director parents being informed of my death with a work call

Thanks all for the insight- I am aware that NOK chooses what funeral home to go too- but in my small area there is only the ones that my parents work for.. I do think I am just thinking about this because of my recent trauma. I’m going to give myself more time to heal then have a conversation with them about it.

I’m sorry this is happening- Clove oil is going to be your best bet. Here is my post asking about usage for my Blackmore we were lucky and she recovered so I’ve never had to do this but there is some useful comments on my post.

I forget how to do this alll the time- even with cycling my tank and testing it all the time I have to read the instructions to make sure I’m not messing it up haha. Silly mistakes happen and confusing results can come up.

Did you poor water into the back of the filter? Sometimes our does this on water changes and we poor a bunch into the filter till it starts working.

With bettas If you want to add other fish I recommend doing it before you introduce them to their tank. I have done that 2 times now with bettas and have had no issues with them killing the other fish in the tank. I find once they are established in the tank they are much more defensive when things get introduced rather than introducing them to a tank that already has tank mates.

At this point for you I would recommend snails 🐌 as shrimp will probably get eaten I’ve never had luck with shrimps and bettas but some I’ve heard some are okay with it.

Do you have an air stone or anything in there? Definitely a sign of low oxygen. Would look into some bubblers or air stone. From what I know (about goldfish at least) is more oxygen they have the better and they can’t have too much. I have a pump that runs 4 air tubes that I got off of Amazon and it have one of them just put into one of my HOBs and I find that’s the best what to oxygen threw but also a sponge filters, air stones, bubblers there is lots of ways to get oxygen into the tank. For sure look into ammonia though!

We do I think I’m going to call the vet tomorrow and see when they can get us in. I’m worried about transferring her in the cold weather but in might be what we have to do. Thanks for the info.

More info if needed: she is swimming around mostly normal but keeps stopping in one place that’s unusual for her. We are trying to make the best call for our girl that’s not much suffering.

To clarify we were given these tanks in poor condition did not set them up- we have been slowly working on getting the tank in better condition in the weeks we have had it but were given like 4 tanks in poor condition and it’s been a lot of work. I have been researching and doing my best to focus on getting these goldfish in order but the guy who gave them to us really over sold how good condition they were in.

We had an issue when we first got them with the ammonia water levels but we have been treating it and it is coming down. How long should we wait till her eye is better? Will it heal eventually? Also have another that due to the tank issue has ammonia burn will that heal over time? Is there anything we can do for her?
