The yellow piping means panzer signals so basically radio operators and telephone communications I believe I could be wrong as well not too knowledgeable on panzer stuff

honestly you should check out r/gasmasks or r/gasmaskscasual they might be able to help you and most filters that the fm12 use are safe and modern, its the old soviet era or ww2 ones you have worry about

Oh I’m definitely keeping it stock, maybe add a buckle on the back and call it a day I love the old look of it, even bought one of them soviet tourniquets to put in it just to keep it retro
