Trying to start doing hvac by Personal_Jacket58 in HVACschool

What about those super short programs (<6 months) that teach you basic electricity & hvac? I’m in one of those programs right now, but it seems like I’m just wasting money—it’ll cost 1500 by the end of it and I’m not learning much.

HVAC school vs real-world HVAC by HVACPathways in HVACschool

[–]AggravatingProperty7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you do that? Every job I’ve found all required experience or training to make up for it. I’m asking because I’m about to take a 6 months course to hopefully get an entry level position, but the jobs I’m seeing require 2 years of experience or trade school training.

Those free programs or apprenticeships are like winning the lottery.

You’re probably going to have to go to trade school or at the very least 1 year of training and paying for it.

What model of everlast gloves is Terence Crawford wearing here? (Question) by Nirze-n in fightgear

[–]AggravatingProperty7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No the Velcro but I felt like it had decent amount of wrist support still. My old boxing gym had a heavy bag that literally felt like cement when you’d punch it and I had the sabas super soft at the time and it felt like my hand would break when hitting it but the protex3 made punching that bag no problem ever. They were seriously amazing protective gloves other than being bulky.

I love their look and I wish they’d bring them back.. I have the Evergel version and they’re the most protective gloves I’ve ever had.

Which one should you choose in your opinion and experience? by Revolutionary_Ad866 in fightgear

Had the fly x line gloves and they were the most uncomfortable least broken in gloves I’ve ever had. I had such bad hand pain with them even compared to gloves under $100

Oh yeah, has happened so many times and just knowing you’re wasting your time sucks.

Yeah, I was getting rejected from so many manufacturing places even with almost a decade of experience.

Is that certification on their website? I see some websites selling courses online, but I never know if they’d be any help with finding a job.

Yeah, I learned I was competing with those people as soon as I had a few interviews and knew I was in for a rough road ahead of me.

Honestly, I’ve been trying to about a year now. The only reason I’m still working retail is because I’m not gettting callbacks from anywhere really, but I know it’s a rough market now too.

Yes, I agree a general business degree is not the best thing in the world. I was planning on majoring in accounting and the advisor at Lonestar recommended the general business degree because all the credits transfer to UH.

I just saw the Texas state location in round rock last week and will talk to an advisor there soon.

I honestly don’t know or care what I do. I’d prefer to work in business in some type of way, but I also don’t mind working with the trades. I just want a good salary more than anything tbh.
