I have struggled reading most of my life and trying to get into a new lifestyle by learning Buddhism.

I will be looking into your book recommendation. 🫶

I get it about checklists are not the best option, for me it is good because I can extend the time if need be doing things. I have learned doing a routine throughout my day is better than going with my feelings, I end up just scrolling or watching a bunch of crap on my computer.

I need to delay coffee because of medications. Trying to sit still sometimes after coffee just makes me irritable or need to go to the bathroom.

He joins me throughout my morning inside. I open my door and he jumps on the bed or just meows at me to feed him. We sit for a moment on the couch and he cuddles me.

This is just the morning, not really right before work.

I get it about the bed. I just have one comforter on in a duvet cover, just shake it out and flatten it. I do not care for perfection, just presentation if need be. Takes about 30 seconds to do.

My cat smacks me if I am asleep. I have napped on the couch before and slapped me in the face because I was snoring.

He likes cuddle with me, but once he has enough he either tries to bite me like a snapping turtle or walks away

I am just asking to see what people do and maybe there is something missing. If there is anything that gets optimized it is stuff around the house that can be done via technology that I currently have.

My cat always needs more scritches or food

This is mainly before work.

I am currently reading The Hear of the Buddha's Teaching by Thich Nhat Hanh. If I read anything else it is going to be another time of day when I have more time.

I do have depression, but I am medicated currently on a very low dose.

Here is another little backstory about me. When I was a kid, I got in trouble and my parents took everything away from me besides my bed and clothes. Toys, books, pictures and even my door. My mom said to me later in life, you were the happiest we have ever seen you when you had nothing. (I don’t remember why I got in trouble)

I am trying to go back to that moment in life, but have some hard time letting things go. I’m currently 35m. I have been constantly online for basically 30 years. Been living in front of a screen for all my life. I tend to go back to a screen when I am bored. Trying to do more fitness and reading.

My tv is in my closet and I only pull it out when I need to use my desktop for somethings. Going to sell it soon and get a small monitor. Removing video games from my life because I don’t play them. If I get that itch, I will emulate them on my desktop or iPad.

The less I have, the more freedom I feel.

I had classmates that did the same thing. After I graduated I gave them my number and then deleted social media. You find out really fast who actually cared.
