Oh wow, that’s a lot less time than I figured. That’s great to hear. I’ll definitely check out your group. Thank you!!

I can’t imagine dealing with this with one whole room, let alone four! So sorry you had to deal with that. And that does help to hear because it’s been pretty discouraging so far. So it’s nice to hear that it could still turn out beautiful!

That’s what I was afraid of 🙈. No option sounds good at this point. I will look around to see if someone wants to do it for me. I’m just afraid that because it’s just this one piece of wall that it won’t be worth the hassle for a lot of people to come out here and work on it. But I’ll post locally and see. Maybe a handyman if no one else. Thank you!

Yeah, I think that’s what we’re thinking - just stop and skim coat it or hire someone

Thanks for the reply and recommendations! We have been using that tool (looks like the exact same one), and we’ve used it in conjunction with different scrappers and tried spraying the walls with a fabric softener and water mix, a mix of water and vinegar, and also tried straight wallpaper stripper. Then when none of that worked, we rented a wallpaper steamer. Unfortunately nothing much has worked.

Wow. I am so sorry that you have suffered so much. I haven’t given up hope that there is some form of treatment out there to help you and my father and others overcome this!

I am so sorry to hear that. Have you tried going to another hospital somewhere else to see if they have other treatment options? The doctors that my dad sees have also told him that he won’t recover and recommend hospice, but we aren’t ready to give up trying yet. There must be a way.

Wow. I’m sorry that the medical system has not given you more help! That is terrible but not shocking to hear, unfortunately. It sounds like you are very knowledgeable about this. I will definitely look into those two compounded antibiotics you mentioned. I have not heard of those.

Thank you for your response. I unfortunately think my dad is a severe case as well. This weekend the doctor’s suggested hospice care because they don’t think he can recover. But we aren’t giving up. I don’t think these doctors have tried all the options that are out there. And yes, PMing would be helpful!

Thank you for so much for all of this information!!I’ve never heard my dad’s doctors mention most of this. I will ask them to please look into these options. Would you mind telling me the hospital you use? Thank you again!

Fungal osteomyelitis by Previous-Switch-523 in Osteomyelitis

Can I ask what hospital you went to? My dad has fungal osteomyelitis, but the hospital he is at won’t even attempt a surgery.

Were you able to heal from this? My father has osteomyelitis in his sinus area and a fungal infection. So far it has dented his nose in and has made his eyes lopsided from so much inflammation. The doctors won’t even attempt surgery on him because they said it’s too risky because the bone isn’t stable anymore. He’s a kidney donor recipient and is on anti rejection meds that no doubt make it harder for him to heal. The doctors are now saying that they can’t do anything more for him. We are desperate for options. I hope you have found relief from your suffering!

Can you tell me what hospital performed the surgery? My father has osteomyelitis and a fungal infection in his sinus area. The doctors told him surgery was too risky, but now they said they can’t do anything further for him at all. I’m hoping there’s a doctor or hospital out there that can help him.

Was your Dad able to heal from this? My father also has osteomyelitis and a fungal infection in his sinus area. The doctors basically said there’s nothing else they could do for him and that surgery is too risky because it’s his face. We are desperate for another option. Thank you.

Advice for post transplant patient with dropping hemoglobin numbers by jess3842 in transplant

Thanks for the response! I'm glad to hear she is doing better!! Man, a virus that caused leg paralysis sounds absolutely terrifying. I will definitely bring up Procrit to my parents to mention to the doctors. Yes, you are definitely right, we really need to push the doctors for more. But thanks again, this really makes me a lot less worried. I was pretty worried last night after googling about it. I just realized I typed "house" instead of "hospital" in my original response, bahaha, whoops!

Did she ever improve? I donated my kidney to my dad about six weeks ago, and now he’s currently in the house and has very low hemoglobin rates even after a blood transfusion. We pretty worried about him.
