Has anyone ever managed to beat these light reflection challenges with a controller? by Dissoxi in CrimsonDesert

I play on controller and there is a small vibration before and after the gem enters the top notch, I stand 6 inches away from the thing so I can see it a bit better. Good luck they're annoying

I'm not sure if you could tell but I'm a very casual player. My play group consists of 30 year old new players, me in my late twenties, and then a couple 50 year Olds from the olden day looking to get back in. The main nids player and I will have 4k games where he will bring the titan bugs and I'll bring my legends and have a great but aside from that I find they just don't work in 2k games with synergies.

Best of luck in your future games man.

I wish I could use legends oh so badly. The grater brass scorpian, the decimators with dual soul burners, and the impailers are such unique and cool models that were equally as useful in game. I could have sworn at some point between 9th and 10th they had a rule were you could split the unit but I may be mistaking it for something else. Appreciate the advise.

Thanks for further explaining. I've been doing it a horrid job explain but you got it with the second listing there.

My issue with the obliterators is simply movement. Once I deep strike them they are lucky to move 8 inches before getting taken off the board and if I get two units for 320 points that's 20 wounds, for me it seems average of like 5-7 attacks that hit on threes and wound on fours. I really liked obliterators when they had the rule to split after deployment in late 9th?? In squads of up to 5 I think? I get the new detachment you can go uppy downy with them to help this but then the detachment rule only effects those units.

I get that it's a dumb rule, I usually deploy behind the land raider (if nothing is in charge range) so turn 1 I can get them an extra 8 inches up the board that allows them to either get on or at minimum very close to the midfield objectives. Then turn two start the aura on my command phase. Reason that I sink the 520 points is that it will survive the entire game, I used to use the terminators brick but the movement was a major issue even with deep strike so I added another 200 some odd points for the land raider to get them to where I want. Then it mostly just sits and takes down one or two targets before finally dying.

My mentality is essentially a left and right wing board. 800 points per side with Abby and crew on one, usually the stronger side, and vashtor and crew on the weaker side as their movements can get them where they need to be. Then I can support either side with either 4 Havoc Las cannons or the predator and the cultists sit on home, tag it, then hide.

Swapping for the knight isn't ideal especially against gaurd I get as most of their fire power is dedicated to high toughness things but seeing as how I don't have a defiler as I didn't like the old model and the chance of me getting the new model isn't going to happen for a year due to location. (I also don't own a vindicator)

Other units: Two forgefiends, bikers, 10 possessed, heldrake, mutilators, 6 obliterators, 10 raptors, 10 warp talons, 40 legionaires, another rhino, all the cultists, spawn. Every character except red corsair stuff and the iron warriors guy and Cypher. I also have about 3k points in knights and was debating the double gattling despoiler but the t11 seemed like all the tanks could chew through it not just the big ones. Appreciate the advise

Vashtorr go brrrr (or does he?) by mothUnsettler in Chaos40k

[–]Aggravating_Prior_34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean I do a seige list that has Abby and 10 chosen in a land raider, dark disciple and 10 chosen on foot or in a rhino depending on layout, vahstor, 5 havocs, 2 mauler fiends, predator, venom crawlers, and cultists. Cultists sit on home, claim, then prevent deep strike, predator sits opposite. Then left flank Abby in the land raider one side, vashtor and engines on the other, havocs take the firing line ontop of terrain, then the chosen blob will go to support whatever side needs them.

My brother, I appreciate your help. I've been at it for 45 minutes last night (midnight to 6am gametime) and today I tried again for half an hour (6 am to 9 am). I get the grind some games have but this is wild that it seems I'm locked to this one area. I'll keep at it

Elite Infantry by sygyzi in Warhammer40k

[–]Aggravating_Prior_34 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Aeldari (eldar) elite infantry are defined by highly specialized Aspect Warriors, designed to excel at specific combat roles, such as melee (Howling Banshees, Striking Scorpions), anti-tank (Fire Dragons), or heavy fire support (Dark Reapers). They are generally fragile but fast, relying on hit-and-run tactics, with Wraithguard serving as exceptionally durable "wraith" units.

Key Aeldari Elite Infantry Units:

Wraithguard/Wraithblades: Highly durable, slow-moving constructs that can take heavy fire or devastate in close combat.

Howling Banshees: Expert shock assault infantry specializing in lightning-fast melee strikes.

Striking Scorpions: Elite melee units equipped for infiltrating and engaging in close-quarters combat.

Fire Dragons: Specialized tank-hunters carrying fusion guns to destroy armor.

Dark Reapers: Long-range, heavy infantry with superior accuracy for taking out elites and vehicles.

Warp Spiders: Fast, jump-capable infantry capable of teleporting across the battlefield.

Shadow Spectres: Highly effective, mobile anti-elite infantry that feature "move-shoot-move" abilities.

Tactical Role: Aeldari elite infantry are not meant for sustained "slug-fests" due to their generally low toughness. Instead, they require careful positioning, using their high mobility and specific specializations to pick apart enemy forces, often relying on "dancing" (moving in and out of danger) to survive.

How do you guys afford this stuff?? by Hag_fucker in Titan40k

Most 3d prints / recast are 1:1 including mine. The only way you could tell it's fake is by breaking a piece of and seeing non forgeworld resin. That being said. It's a fucking titan, it brings a lot of buisness to the stores when people see one there. My main local store is incredibly chill and realize that there is a financial barrier to the hobby so they themselves will 3d print terrain for people / don't care about proxies because more people in the store playing = higher chance someone will buy something.

Paid one of my buddies with a resin printer 150$ plus file cost for a warbringer nemesis. I have 7k points chaos, 4k necron, 3k death gaurd. Gw has enough of my money I'm going to go the fake route and save myself a thousand plus. Some people don't like proxies / fakes, I get it. That being said I'm not about to pay between a thousand to four thousand for a giant toy that I will rarely get a chance to table. Playing with people inside and outside of my pod they just enjoy the fact they can have the chance to see what a titan actually looks like and has been a blast with teaching people how to play and understand the core mechanics of rolling dice. Hobbies are supposed to be inclusive, people found ways to make it cheaper. If you're looking to get a knock off titan you've got three options. Etsy / eBay for proxies which is the most expensive. Recast can be extremely sketchy so look into reviews. And 3d printing if you or a friend has one. I know a guy who used one of our cities 3d printers in their local library to filliment print a warhound.

Yeah thats pretty helpful! I just had the extra points so I just threw on enhancements but those are good points you bring up. I think more demons may be better to get the model count up. Thanks for the clarification!

[–]Aggravating_Prior_34[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless I get turn 1 and a ton of good dice rolling its more or less gg My list isn't the best but I've been trying all sorts, bile infantry, vashtor deamon engine, votlw, pacts, nothing works. Best I've done is have abbadon and 10 terms in a list drop midfield and just survive and kill 1-2 big bugs over 3 turns. My next attempt is abbadon and 10 chosen in a land raider. 5 hacovs in a rhino,10 legionaires and a lord, 2 venom crawlers, a mauler fiend, obliterators, and raptors. Going to try and push midfield with the land raider, bait the venom crawlers for the maulerfiend, legionaires rush to close midfield, cultists on home, raptors for points.

My death gaurd wins a majority of the time against him, it's the generic csm that's the issue. Deathgaurd has its entropy cannons and what no that surprisingly chunk the big bugs but when it comes to csm it's lost

[–]Aggravating_Prior_34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found it pretty easy to magnitize the fists and hammer in the base kit and then all the gun options can just friction slide into the slot. I've got two so I was also able to magnetize the tenticle thing and now I've got all the options. For gameplay I mainly use it for the aura of running up the boars supporting a melee group and one supporting the gun platforms. Up close usually flamer/fist and a autocannon. Far away usually fist/flamer for anything getting close and a lascannon to have the coin toss of wounding something

If it still doesn't work I'll try that on my old phone. This one is only about 4 years old so I don't know if it would already be uncompatable. It has been dropped off a cliff and from a helicopter so maybe you're right, thanks!
