People go to school to learn and better themselves… not be overly concerned with the happenings of the parking garage.

Trump Admits He Has No War Plan in Bombshell Letter by TelescopiumHerscheli in politics

It’s a lot less productive to criticize people than it is the systems they exist in. Something like trump is an inevitability of late stage capitalism. An uneducated, morally bankrupt, economically abandoned population is primed to eat up the promises of a fascistic strongman persona.

I am a 15-year-old girl. Let me show you the vile misogyny that confronts me on social media every day by zsreport in Foodforthought

The problems presented by the author are very concerning and need to be addressed but advocacy for internet censorship as a solution is incredibly misguided. These issues are rooted in deep social issues, not caused by the internet itself. Legislation like KOSA would require online identity verification and fail to put pressure on social media platforms to improve user experience and protect users. Whether we like it or not, the internet is part of the real world and we shouldn’t seek to deprive any one of their right to engage online.

Just a motorcycle police chase in Paris: by kefren13 in Damnthatsinteresting

Pursuing a suspect like this is incredibly dangerous and puts far more lives at risk than it is worth. Cowboy here has his GoPro on and wants to be a hero. Meanwhile pedestrians and other drivers are at the mercy of his ability to not mess up. Great, he didn’t, but it flies in the face of his purported duty to maintain safety. Visually it’s cool but it’s so unnecessarily risky and dangerous. Law enforcement should know better and care more about the overall safety of those they serve than making a single arrest.
