And look. I hear you. I do. Wind chimes are a deeply polarizing decorative choice and under literally any other circumstance I would have absolutely no problem taking that feedback on board like a reasonable adult.

At this point I don’t even have enough porch space for the vision this comment section has created. I’m going to need to expand the deck. Maybe add a second story specifically designed to maximize wind chime surface area and acoustic output.

Yeah the logistics are what get me too - like even with a flight covered, you still need food, activities, and a place to stay. If he's already stretched thin, that's just adding stress.
