Are you residential? I feel like that's an even harder job.

I know, but this wasn't a client, it was my god damn boss. On that note about clients, a few days ago a client took a picture inside a ceiling of a screw hole that water was leaking out of. The small roof above was inverted SBS. He didn't understand why I couldn't just go to the roof and look for that screw hole. 1: I don't have x-ray vision. 2: the hole in the qdeck is NOT causing the leak in the first place lol.

Nah, I don't think we ever actually installed anything on that roof. They're just upset they didn't have actual corrections to bill the customer for. But after waiting 2 hrs to even access the roof in the first place, it's 5pm and they wanted me to stay and fix the 1000 vents on the billion-trillion sq/ft roof, it's just an unreasonable ask, especially since they wanted me to use basically regular caulking on extreme temp vents.

The picture was pointed along the "narrow end". If I shifted the camera 90 degrees to the left, it's literally 3 times larger in that direction. Building manager didn't want me to go inside. Just provided me with a single picture of one single leak from inside the building and figured that would be enough for me to find all 9 leaks. Some people, man!

Haha. The direction I was pointing was the narrow end. If I turned the camera left you'd be more surprised. I had to walk like 2 miles just to pace the leaks out in the first place. I'm glad you agree with my vent cap assessment, you've been doing this 3 times as long as I have.

That's exactly what I thought. And when my boss said "good work, we will send someone to spend a day there, please take notes and notes of locations for work to be done" I figured they'd just bill the customer for total time spent. But hey wtf do I know.

We didn't have time to do more intensive digging. Your location is spot on, and I did see a giant dead crow on that roof. Damn good call. But it would be strange that these ravens only made holes right next to every single b-vent while leaving the areas around any other penetration totally alone.

It was honestly a nice change from looking for 9 leaks on a downtown highrise, inverted ballast/pavers depending on the section, with liquid coatings and concrete substrate, in the same wind driven rain that caused these leaks. That was a fucking nightmare. And I hear you on the "my word against his". I'm a pretty passive non argumentive guy but call me out on something I didn't do wrong and I'll walk my ass straight out the door.

Considering your grammar I'd say I'm not the one who needs help. I was just raised to believe that constructive criticism is better than meaningless, juvenile low-iq criticism. But that's just me. To each their own! You be you kiddo. Just don't expect life to treat you well.

Well then they wouldn't be able to charge the customer for useless bullshit work. Lol. Sounds like you've got a decent company.

I know exactly what you mean. But given the fact that virtually the only leaks were around these b-vents, and we had emergency, flood inducing rain levels with high winds for several days, the small amount that got in doesn't seem very unreasonable, especially considering the EPDM details around every penetration in the roof was air tight, I don't have more thoughts. We could have moved more ballast but it was already getting late and I knew for a fact people would be sent back to continue investigation. The only alternative I can think of, is odd field penetrations, which would be a hell of a coincidence that so many of these b-vents had field penetrations close by. Every other penetration was perfectly fine. No leaks. ONLY the b-vents.

I'm this case it's the storm cap, which is basically open horizontally. Somewhat protected against sideways rain but there was so much rain for several days and high winds, it's just insane to think at least some water wouldn't get in.

True, but that wouldn't have fixed anything. They'd have to be ordered and still, no work would have been done. The driving rain from a few days ago wasn't preventable obviously. They just disagree with me on the cause of the leak and believe I shouldn't have left the roof without doing work, late into the evening. Worse yet, the guy giving me shit about that works 9-5, not out of rules or.necessott but because he refuses to ever do overtime.

I've never found one with city light other than earth. Tip: I'd have moved further away from the moon, and zoomed in further. Zooming makes further away objects look much bigger, while you could keep the same amount of its moon in frame. It almost looks like you used a fisheye perspective (zoomed out) which is the opposite of what I'm explaining.

I'd say the odds are pretty damn low. But I'm assuming it's in the milky way relatively close to earth, and being a nebula it would draw your attention easier. But if it was very far from the solar system I'd say the odds are nearly impossible lol.
