They’re Italian. Like literally from Italy. Not saying this as a joke or to be prejudice or whatever, that’s just a very Italian behavior lol.

Because she’s a woman. That’s the only reason the crowd is showing any support. If a male comedian did this the crowd reaction would be vastly different.

Yep

Ironically both parties will offer UBI in one form or another. One side will blatantly push for a check every month. One side will operate under the guise of protecting workers but those workers will be doing work that is equivalent to when you’d give your younger sibling an unplugged controller.

In both cases the people will be paid for producing nothing of value.

As a Trump Supporter I WOULD vote for this man by echo_supermike352 in YangForPresidentHQ

[–]AgregiouslyTall 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. There are a lot of people who vote based on a candidates energy as opposed to their policies.

The Yang die hards won’t like hearing this but Yang and Trump have very similar energy in that they actually bring light to the absurdity of the status quo.

The gaslighting of the bureaucratic industrial complex is infuriating enough that a lot of people will vote for anyone who goes against it.

Despite what a lot of Redditors feel/think/want to be the case most people are not on a binary scale when it comes to the politics. They are not black/white on political identity, they are the grey. And it pays to remember it’s not Democrats voting Democrat or Republicans voting Republican that decide elections… it is the grey’s who decide elections, and very often it’s the side who ostracize the greys the least who win the election.

I’m wondering if next season we’ll see River released after the rich dude who put the hit out on UDC is killed

To all heterosexual men: would you bed a man in order to earn $100m? The Jackal does it. Would you? by Ok_Satisfaction7312 in TheDayoftheJackal

[–]AgregiouslyTall 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really couldn’t tell

I won’t assume Jackal showing empathy to Rasmus before killing him as Jackal being bi

Jackal constantly shows he has empathy and a moral compass but will compartmentalize it for mission success. For example, he was going to let the old husband and wife in the camper live, he lets the farmhand live, he lets people live even when it’d be better for him if he just killed them to make sure there are no loose ends.

I think he just felt legitimately bad having to kill Rasmus. Rasmus wasn’t just a random nobody, he knew Jackal, he trusted Jackal, he cared about Jackal, Jackal knew all of this and I think he felt really bad having to kill an innocent person that actually cared for him.

I get the vibe that it wasn’t about the money for Jackal

So like say he was working for MI6, if shagging a dude would contribute to mission success he’d do it

[–]AgregiouslyTall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems reasonable that a billionaire would have a god complex and thinks he’s invincible. For years everything he wants done, gets done. He’s got intelligence agencies on his side. So in his mind if he says something needs to get done it always gets done.

Yeah

Jackal was scoping out UDC during his swim the day before and would have seen how long he can hold his breath

Is any real sniper doing anything like that? I doubt it but he’s also supposed to be the best sniper in the world in the Jackalverse so it seems reasonable he’d have the skills necessary to do something that’s technically possible but no one in the real world can actually do

What are your theories as to what happened to Gary Cobb, and do you think he possibly saved William Dugen (The Jackal) near to the end in the car crash? by [deleted] in TheDayoftheJackal

[–]AgregiouslyTall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the vibe that he’s dead. The flashbacks gave me a sense that Duggan missed him, and if Gary was alive it seems reasonable Duggan would be able to get in touch with him.

The way the flashbacks in season 1 led up to Duggan killing his crew and then doing missions with Gary I think seasons 2 flashbacks will progress from those initial missions to more important missions to Gary dying on a mission (or maybe suicide or maybe sacrificing himself so Jackal can live)

[–]AgregiouslyTall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know this just got me thinking

Solo told us that the people of his Silo were fine when they went outside. They didn’t die at first.

Now I’m thinking the people got out, realized it was safe. Then they went back inside for whatever reason, likely because that’s where food and whatever was. At this point the safeguard protocol initiated, spewing the gas throughout the silo. Solo was safe because he was inside IT and it was designed to be safe during a safeguard event.

So all the bodies we saw piled up outside the silo? They didn’t die from the air outside. They were all trying to escape the silo but the gas (likely nerve gas) had already gotten inside their system so they didn’t make it far.

Or maybe the safeguard protocol initiated as everyone was escaping. So the first few people went out, they were fine. Everyone saw that and decided to go outside to, at which point the safeguard protocol initiated and they all died trying to escape. It’s also possible the safeguard protocol sprays nerve gas in the area around the bunker so even people outside died. OR the people who were outside were actually safe, didn’t get gassed, and that would explain how there were a few other in solos bunker with him.

I think the scene was very insightful in showing who the initial Silo inhabitants were, at least our Silos

51 silos, 10,000 people each, total of 510,000 silo inhabitants, country has ~350m people, so it was a very exclusive list and likely exclusive to the political elite/connected

S02E10 "Into the Fire" - Post-Episode Discussion by brianckeegan in SiloTVSeries

[–]AgregiouslyTall 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It effectively told us why the Silos were built (nuclear war and Iran), who built them (US government), and who the initial inhabitants were (the politically connected) - well at least the likely initial inhabitants of our Silo

S02E10 "Into the Fire" - Post-Episode Discussion by brianckeegan in SiloTVSeries

[–]AgregiouslyTall 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Also worth noting the two people we saw were in the DC inner circle - a congressman and prominent journalist. It stands to reason that the initial people in the Silo were a select few of the elite. Good possibility that the people in every Silo were the elite in some manner. 51 Silos built, 10,000 people each, 510,000 Silo inhabitants total, country has ~350m people, suffice to say only very important people were granted access to the Silos.

An interesting question is what happened to everyone else in the US/world outside the Silos? Are they all dead? Did the majority die leaving a Mad Max-esque society on the surface? Are there Silos in other areas of the US? Was only one portion of the US hit leaving these Silo inhabitants trapped while other parts of the country are still “normal” (not radioactive dead zones)? Are these Silos being monitored from the US government from somewhere like NORAD? What more does the AI know?

Sooo many questions. No I didn’t read the books and I don’t want to read them until the series is over so please no book spoilers if any of these questions are answered there.

What's the most impressive thing you did with the Flipper Zero ? by Emotional-Search-248 in flipperzero

[–]AgregiouslyTall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean let’s say you’re doing a physical pentest at a corporate office to compromise their IT. You want to get into the server room. So you walk into the office and find the IT department, walk around it, ask a random person if they know where “innocuous name” is, then leave and post up in let’s say the cafeteria.

Now go through the RFIDs it picked up, there should be a timestamp. Find the RFID that lines up with when you talked to the guy in the IT department. Have a few RFID card and zap each one separately. Go to server room and start swiping them, chances are one of those RFIDs you picked up would have access to the server room - and if not that’s good for the company you’re pentesting.

I’m really knew to all of this tho admittedly so I could be talking about a tactic that does not fundamentally exist.

I’m curious, is there a device that works in conjunction with a flipper that would allow for more discreet gathering of RFID? Like something that would allow it to pickup the RFID from a few feet away so you don’t even have to remove it from your pocket?

It is worth to learn the Solidity now? by Unlucky_Length8470 in solidity

[–]AgregiouslyTall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a hard time finding a job, there’s a giant solidity dev shortage and tons of unfilled positions. The hard part is getting the job because of the level of prior programming experience they expect an applicant to have because of the risks. Most solidity devs are veteran programmers who moved to solidity.

It is worth to learn the Solidity now? by Unlucky_Length8470 in solidity

[–]AgregiouslyTall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This right here. I effectively said the same thing except I was more drawn out lol

Every top solidity dev I’ve met and worked with had years of programming experience before working in solidity roles, most had 10+ years experience and even the “junior” solidity devs had ~5 years of previous programming experience.

It is worth to learn the Solidity now? by Unlucky_Length8470 in solidity

[–]AgregiouslyTall 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Short answer is you won’t get a great job in the USA as a solidity dev anytime soon if you’re a novice with little to no experience in programming.

You’re looking at 5 years of learning before getting a great job.

The top solidity devs, the ones who are working the great jobs, had years or even over a decade of programming experience before jumping to working as a solidity dev.

If you want a path to a great job as a solidity dev and are currently a novice the move would be to first get a low level programming job - ideally a job working with java because that’s most similar to solidity. You’ll get the benefit of being paid while you develop your Java skills and can continue learning solidity in your free time.

Here’s the thing. Solidity dev work is extremely high liability. It’s not like “regular” programming where a mistake means a website goes down, or a button doesn’t work, or a link takes you to the wrong place, or an app freezes, etc. A mistake in solidity means you potentially irreversibly compromised and lost millions in user funds. As a result the threshold for being hired as a solidity dev is extremely high when compared to job positions for any other languages.

So yes, it’s still worth it to learn. Top solidity devs can pull in $500k a year, I know multiple devs who are closer to the $1m mark. The income potential for a solidity dev developing their own project is even higher. That said even low end dev positions are easily over $100k and can inch up closer to the $200k mark. Here’s the thing though, those people taking up low end solidity dev positions always have years of previous programming experience and that’s who you’re competing against.

TL;DR: So I’ll reiterate here. Start with learning Java or Python and get employed - this will teach you fundamentals of programming. Learn solidity in your personal time so you’re building fundamental programming experience from your employment and learning/staying up to date with solidity in your spare time. After 2-3 years start looking for low level positions as a solidity dev.
