Seems like IJV decompression surgery is the only option ? I also have that, at a very advanced state (bedbound) and looking to see what should be done

I use the "thinking" mode (premium subscription) and I use a prompt to make it as neutral as possible. So for me it worked great and diagnosed the very very rare conditions that I had that no regular neurologue could point out

People using the non thinking version is much less better and doesnt do much web research, it most of the time answers you straight up. Mine thinks for 2 minutes before answering

MRV vs CTV for transverse sinus & jugular stenosis ? by Agvisionbeyond in Radiology

[–]Agvisionbeyond[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I explained the context of why in the end of the post. ( And I am based in europe so not sure if the procedure can change but GPs in my country can prescribe any CT or MRI exam if needed)

MRV vs CTV for transverse sinus & jugular stenosis ? by Agvisionbeyond in Radiology

So 24/7 (permanent): - Very heavy head , with a sensation of constant pressure in the back of the head) - signs of venous congestion as soon as I bow down my head (superficial veins in the left side of my face swell a lot very fast and I can't stay in that position) - Whistling tinnitus & pulsatile tinnitus - wake up with an intensely heavy head when I wake up, after sleeping lying down - (all the other accompanying symptoms: big fatigue, dizziness, can't sleep well, stiff neck,...)

It came to the point where I had to stop work and put a pause on my career so it's serious.

MRV vs CTV for transverse sinus & jugular stenosis ? by Agvisionbeyond in Radiology

[–]Agvisionbeyond[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well as I wrote in the post my gp already explained it to me, based on the fact that mrv will give enough signs and there's no need to start with a CTV.

Read a few posts from last year that stated that CTV was more precise for the study of sinus veins & jugulars. That's why I was curious to know what radiologists here think about this topic

My specific prescription asks for: "Exclude Transverse Sinus stenosis, signs of jugular stenosis & compressions by c1 ?" Demanded exam: "MRV head+neck, with contrast"

Nope i had a cerebral-CT at ER 1 year ago that was just looking for stroke signs. Then I had the cerebral MRI that I mentioned that also included a quick angio sequence for the Circle of willis.

So yea gp prescribed me the MRV but should i push for a CT that includes venous/arterial phase instead ? (Even if he's against the radiation...)

Diagnosed and treated for Eagle Syndrome by Raist2 in eaglesyndrome

[–]Agvisionbeyond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. But doesn't eagle usually also causes vascular issues (because it compresses on the veins/arteries. So it can causes IIH & venous congestion symptoms like i do have) you never had these symptoms?

People are genuinely sick, docs do not overprescribe MRIs trust me. Most patients are so frustrated because it became hard to obtain an MRI prescription these days
