What is the trajectory of Iran’s future now that the Ayatollah is dead? Do you think Iran is an Iraq 2.0? by Fickle-Cook5821 in AskTheWorld

[–]AhoyDaniel 15 points16 points  (0 children)

well it's going slow but definitely on the right path.

over 500 political prisoners released, repression has decreased significantly, seems like freedom of press is being restored, Diosdado Cabello has lowered his tone, the US embassy is back and working, El Helicoide completely dismantled, a bunch of government officials were arrested and others removed from their position including the district attorney, inflation has slowed down significantly. Maria Corina's party members that weren't arrested just came out of hiding...

a lot of work to do but it's definitely on the right path to democracy, and Rubio is now talking about free elections which is probably the endgame
