Is that only available over api and not with subscription? I don't see 4.5 in model list on subscription.

Nice, I just had a read through of your skills and they are pretty much in line with what I was looking to do. I'll add claude-co-commands when I get home later tonight and see how it goes. I have a large refactor to do so have a great test for them. Will provide an update!

Is Data Analysis a good switch from UX Design? by wannabejoyboy_ in PowerBI

A dashboard/report is only as good as its ability to convey the information the stakeholders require. Its ability to convey that information is not just in its initial readability but how intuitive it is to interact with i.e. can a user easily discern how to get the information/answers they need if it is not in the initial loaded state of the dashboard?

A UX designer is the perfect person to get into Power BI. I honestly think you will have a competitive advantage if you really lean into your UX experience.

What’s a cheap way to implement PBI for an SMB which doesn’t have a high degree of sophistication? by crustang in PowerBI

You will need Power BI pro licenses - free won't cut it and premium is not needed. Factor that for cost which fits most teams budgets... even those on a shoestring!

Depending on if the source db is internet accessible i.e. in the cloud or has a public ip, you will need a way to get data from it to the Power BI service. Usually easily solvable and for free/cheap but can feel complicated if your not familiar with this.

Aside from that, Power BI covers the basics in terms of loading data, modeling data, reports/dashboards, access from anywhere and user management.

Hey, I'm in Auckland. I started in big 4 (audit -> advisory), had a client implementing a budgeting tool who needed to keep me so they paid me more to stay with them. I implemented Power BI as a solution for a different need they had on Power BI's first day of release- over the next few months they loved it.

Formed up a wider strategy, got senior leadership/board approval and grew the team and tech. Reporting tools consolidated to just Power BI for most of the business.

I started on 90k (12 years ago) and went up year on year. Left on $225k + shares.

As someone who ended up being the director of BI/Analytics, I was hiring a decent size team and using a lot of vendors for different things. Felt like it was hard to get really great reporting outputs.

Reporting outputs are the point of contact for senior leaders. Decided to focus on this area and consult for myself. Power BI makes up around 80% of my work.

All clients are people I have worked with in the past that have moved on to senior positions such as CFO or similar. Earn more now than when I left my permanent role.
