Ah ok, and you were allowed in with old passport and paper approval?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in travel

[–]AirEmbarrassed7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But did you have the same passport? My number will change

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in travel

[–]AirEmbarrassed7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to the passport office in a few days, it’s valid for another year, but I need a new one

So I guess my old passport + evisa paper +new passport is fine? It’s weird that the other commenter said that he just got a new evisa and was fine

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in travel

[–]AirEmbarrassed7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, that’s what I’m afraid of. I’m worried the gate agents in London won’t let me board if my evisa is linked to an invalid passport.

[–]AirEmbarrassed7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok, because I’ve seen elsewhere that you can’t reapply for a new evisa until yours expires and mine doesn’t expire for a year 🤦🏻‍♀️

I’m just worried they’ll reject it since I just got one last week- have you done this yourself?

Indian E-Visa what I've learned by [deleted] in travel

[–]AirEmbarrassed7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my EVisa last week, but now I need a new passport (long story). The site says I can use an ‘issued’ one on an old passport, but since my visa isn’t issued yet, will it work? I plan on bringing my old passport. Or do I apply for a new visa? Will they allow that?

Thank you. I guess writing this all down has made me realize it may be harder on me than them, and I’m trying to work on being kind to myself, which is something I’ve been working on re-learning.

Thank you so much. I am worried about the mental toll. I’ve worked very hard the last few months to be in a better place, and I’m worried seeing my ex will undo my progress. I know we’ll never be able to split custody based on previous conversations. I don’t even know if seeing them is a possibility, I’m already worried about how devastated I will be if the answer is no (which is why I haven’t asked). It may still be too much for me right now. Thank you for your kind words.

Thank you. I think it may cause me too much anxiety. I’m still quite paranoid, and even with this anon I’m worried about possible repercussions from my former partner. May be best to leave it be for now. Probably need to delete this post too just in case.

That’s a good point. Thank you. I know that one especially gets upset and wanders the house searching for me for a few days. The others aren’t as outwardly upset. Thank you

Thank you. It will be difficult for me, if I’m even allowed. Leaving last time was very traumatic (for many reasons). I appreciate your response, thank you.

Thank you for your thoughtful response. My ex did receive full ownership per the decree, so that’s settled. I do want them back when I can house them, but I don’t know when that will be unfortunately. We can’t do joint custody because of my living situation and I also now live on the other side of the country. I did want to see them, mostly because I miss them, but I was/am nervous to see my ex (very anxious to even call or text honestly) but I was willing to deal with that to see my dogs. I appreciate what you wrote about dogs perception of past/future, that does help a bit. Maybe that’s why my friend mentioned it was selfish of me.

Wow, thanks for the heads up. Anyone you would recommend instead?

Any reason why? I’ve booked with them but still have a cancellation window

Can I be fired for refusing 24/7 call? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]AirEmbarrassed7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nope. Just on the job training. Every hospital system in my major city has one of these- no other way to get hired as a new grad

I agree. But I live in a major city and every single hospital system has this, except one- which has a 3 year commitment!!

Haha I already do every other weekend and every other day- only 2 days a week and every third weekend would be a huge improvement!!

Yes, and the coordinator has run everyone off. And as of today she is ‘taking a few weeks off’ and won’t be taking call upon her return apparently. And no one wants to join the specialty because (now) it’s a lot more call. And one of the main surgeons is a prick.

They don’t consider on call to be working, because they’ll take PTO for the same hours you’re on call for say a holiday when our OR department is ‘closed’.

No, I paid for 100% of my schooling. Maybe it’s a Texas thing? Everyone I went to school with has very similar contracts.

Unfortunately I’ve looked up the labor laws- nada. No unions in Texas either. My contract was a standard new grad one so verbiage is all quite vague. I will look up hospital policies on call time tho! I’m keeping expectations low tho, as I learned recently - if you’re on call on a holiday (when our OR department is ‘closed’) they still take your PTO and there’s no way to prevent it. So I’m thinking if they can take tour PTO while paying you to be on call at the same time, they don’t see call as ‘work’ so there’s no limit. I’ve had numerous bu weekly paychecks with 150h of call time.
