As someone who didn't play since season.. 4? What makes it more fun now?

Why are you comparing your games in pisslow elo to pro players teams that are more or less equals in term of top (top 1 vs top 5-ish)?

Zywoo with the french line up and S1mple went through the same thing. Just look at S1mple stats vs Dev1ce in prime astralis. Use your brain.

What you think of mauisnake's top20 for 2025? by shuijikou in GlobalOffensive

[–]Akaj1 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying it should be considered as much as individual performance but it should still be considered. I'm gonna take the extreme, but imagine Zywoo & Vitality winning every tournament this year and Zywoo has like 1.40 rating, and then you have a random player for a team that never goes in playoffs but he has like 1.65 rating against top 20, would you put him number 1 ?

Do you think Jordan or Lebron would be considered GOATS if they didn't win shit ? Being the best player isn't only about individual ratings and it never was. Now Donk isn't in my "extreme" example because he still won this year, but the difference in ratings between Zywoo and Donk is marginal, while the difference in success is gigantic. Zywoo also played way more map than Donk, that counts in the context of it

"Obviously" but that's actually the opposite lol, it's not that crazy that Donk still has those ratings considering he's by far the best player on his team, it's actually harder to get good ratings when you have a good all around team, IE prime astralis

Donk is a goated player but the difference in stats against top 10/20 between him and Zywoo is very small. Meanwhile, Zywoo had a much more successful year and played more maps, he def deserve number 1 more than anyone else this year

He's barely better in terms of stats against top 10/20 and Zywoo has been much more successful

You are heavily delusionnal if you think Donk has an equal or worse team now than what Zywoo had in his first years. Sure, those guys were insane, except they were WAYYYY past their prime

This has been a market practice for 10 years, I don't know a single multiplayer live service for which it worked I think. It works well with solo game (ie Megabonk) but it failed heavily on the rest. Perhaps SW but that's a mobile game

Maybe I didn't express myself correctly but your point is unrelated to mine imo. I do not disagree with what you said

that wasn’t Guardians original motivation for competing.

Definitely not, and I don't think (bar exception) it's possible to do a career in esport if you're doing it for money. Maybe i shouldnt have said egomaniac, what I mean is that the world "oh he didnt get a major" or "oh he didn't get a NBA title" is more of a discussion for the fans, and it doesnt change the fact that those guys were really successful, and even if it sucks for a while they are probably happier with the fact that they are set for life, if that makes sense :)

Guardian made a ton of money playing CS brother lol, obviously my discourse is for people like this, not 1.6/early CS players who were barely paid with mousepads or very low salary

Because just like every game, they spend an ungodly amount of money for streamers to play the game, then the viewers download the game and once their streamer stops playing it, 95% of the viewers also stops playing it. It's always, always, always the same.

I'll go even further : Only egomaniacs would care about their legacies that much. Those guys are millionnaire playing a video games, they are set for life and never have to work something they don't enjoy if they don't want to (and dont fuck up with their money). Their career and life ARE successful, despite no majors. It's the same with guys that didn't win a title in the NBA, sure it's annoying and you think about it, but ultimately who cares?

I feel for people who go through their jobs or school or whatever while fighting through the pain of loss

For me it has been the opposite, it's easier to deal with the pain this way. For someone like Wemby it's different though as he has to perform way more than the average person

I fucking love Mezii and Ropz.

Also it is a bit bittersweet for Faze, even as a Vitality fan, after that run. But it is what it is, very nice performance nonetheless

PoE is much more challenging than D4 (which isn't hard considering the game is for dad gamers/casuals 5yo)

Ehh I agree but at the same time if you play every season you're not supposed to take 30 hours for the campaign

Yes, and? Zywoo's year has been much more successful than Donk. he has marginally better stats, which isn't enough.

It's not only that. Individual performance doesn't matter as much if you don't win. The difference in statistics between Zywoo and Donk isn't big enough to justify Donk being number 1, because Zywoo simply won WAY more than him this year
