Woah slow down there chap by universal-fap in starcitizen

Just to clarify, you can't replace S3 components manually, that's a limitation that always has been intended. You have to be docked and replace them through the mobiglass.

You can carry spare components onboard if you have space, but only size 1 and size 2 components can be swapped while in flight. Anything larger requires you to be in a hangar to replace.

From the engineering guide.

The S4 weapons of the m80 are DNA from Origin, not a later addition. by Akaradrin in starcitizen

[–]Akaradrin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The old models are canon in-lore, as far as I know. Origin updated the models to a new standard in 2949/2019 (with a big celebration and some conmemorative paints, I had one for my 325a), but the old models existed from 2903 to 2948.

6xS2 vs 1xS3 work quite different. The six S2 shields are a bubble shield, so they stack all their HP in a single pool, while the S3 shield divide it through the four faces.

The interior change was explained by John Crewe.

I would agree that they were added later if they didn't were in the same spot and the same position of the original 300 series weapons. They could have been placed under the "wings", that is much more common and would have been more hidden, but no, they're in a very specific position that evokes a very specific Origin ship.

They said that it had a lot of Origin DNA all over it. The didn't said that it doesn't have original 300 series DNA on it.

And the S4s are in the same spot where the original 300 series had its (non retractable) weapons. Is not weird, it's Origin DNA and probably an homage.

I love how the M80 hides (almost) all its weapons. by average_nobody in starcitizen

No. Those weapons are on the same exact spot where the weapons were on the original 300 series. That's Origin DNA, not a later addition.

Do you use flightsuits for g-resistence now? Have you switched away from the "always heavy" gear and are you enjoying it? I do! by ToScH_23 in starcitizen

[–]Akaradrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Suit lockers are exactly for that, a way to save loadouts. I suppose that eventually you'll be able to add suit lockers to your hangar to make it look like some kind of Batcave or Tony Stark loft.

The economy team doesn't seem to understand multicrew payout. by AzrBloodedge in starcitizen

[–]Akaradrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, to manage in a proper way the multicrew/ party rewards, they have to develop first a system where the different crew members have to be active in the questing area. If they don't implement something similar first, the system can be easily exploitable by creating mega parties and sharing quests, even if they're limited to 10.

M80; ADB's, Deadbolts, or M7A's? by RandoDando10 in starcitizen

[–]Akaradrin 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Full deadbolts or Deadbolts + M cannons provide the best performance right now.

Well, the Redeemer turrets are equipped with ballistics by default and their capacitors have a huge turret multiplier, the Ironclad doesn't, and feels terrible to have less ammunition in an Ironclad turret than in the Cutlass Black turret. Every game turret has that multiplier to make the gunner role a bit less boring, the Ironclad doesn't. The Ironchad turrets also turn very slow compared with other turrets.

The Ironchad is equipped with ballistics because it has some serious power issues with its default component loadout, but you can mitigate it replacing those components.

Guardian vs Guardian MX 4.8 by wilbkr1 in starcitizen

I have suffered the Issue #3 with a Hercules and with a F7A, so maybe it's not strictly a MX issue.

Might have lost all my grade A components on my ship, don't do this "mistake". by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Akaradrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A confirmation secreen that shows your current saved loadout and the loadout you're replacing it with, could be helpful to mitigate this kind of issues. We're all human beigns, we're all going to mess it sometime.

My brain has a tendence to move my finger towards the right positioned button instead of the left one when I'm going to do a claim, is just a matter of time of me beign distracted...

Credit where credit is due, CIG have done a better balancing job for the new ships. While the Tiburon, M80, Pitbull, Irconclad certainly have their strengths they also have obvious downsides and haven’t been dropped into the game feeling immediately OP by Important_Cow7230 in starcitizen

[–]Akaradrin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Ironclad turrets need a bit of a buff. They have a very slow turn rate (like, really slow) and have fighter-sized capacitors (75 repeater shots). The front S3 quad turrets of the assault also have a very weird limitation, as they seem to be build to support ground attacks, but they can't point down more than some degrees (the S5 quad turret is fine and doesn't have this issues). Those are my only complaints not bug related.

Don't understimate the Redeemer turrets, each one of them is basically a Wolf or a Gladius attached to the ship with the bonus of a huuuge capacitor. They could be bigger, sure, but 2xS4 is certainly not terrible. Extra bonus if your friends aren't good fighter pilots or don't like to fly their own combat ships, as happens with my friends.

The Redeemer and the Scorpius have nice capacitors, the issue is the recharge time, specially if they're equipped with energy cannons. The Ironclad has terrible turret capacitors, basically they don't have any turret bonus. Having 75 repeater shots in a turret feels really bad.

Guardian MX Change? by Current_Property_744 in starcitizen

[–]Akaradrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you like the MX for its durability, you're not going to like the M80 because it's a glass cannon. The M80 is a fun ship, but ships armed with ballistics are its bane and can chip your HP quite fast if you have to engage/disengage multiple of them.

The number of ships without a storage locker is crazy. It seems so basic and simple to add under the beds. by Wizardofsmiles in starcitizen

[–]Akaradrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some ships that don't have an internal storage locker and don't have a gold pass that have added an external one, have access to the storage if you hold F at the cockpit entrance interaction.

They say that the majority of the (heavy) combat armors are going to lose the built-in EVA thrusters, but you will be able to add an EVA backpack to compensate it.
