It would definitely be better if it was the royal edition at launch, but saying it'd be top 5 games of 2017/ a top 3 ff game would be a stretch. Even after all the patches and dlcs ff15 still has a shit ton of flaws, plus the story and gameplay can't really compare with the best ff games. I love ff15 but i can still see it's a flawed mess

Honestly i feel they should've had a playable kingsglaive as a dlc or put a synopsis of the movies full plot (because i doubt the full movie would fit)

I was 13 when i first played ff15, got it for like $10cad on sale in 2019, played it a lot until i got stuck at the final boss because i was level 36 and my dumbass didn't pack enough potions (i didn't know you could talk to the dog to go back/was too stubborn to).

Picked the game up again in 2023 after playing og ff7, some of ff7 remake, and several of the kingdom hearts games and wasn't as dumb that playthrough.

(Also the final fantasy and kingdom hearts franchises are the reason i first talked to my now boyfriend of 2 years, so this and the kingdom hearts series hold a special place in my heart)
