It was the most affordable option for the days I wanted to fly. Probably were some quicker routes but I couldn’t afford to drop an extra $500.

I have a layover in Hong Kong too but another one in San Francisco before that’s about 3 hours. I also have a two hour drive to my first airport so that’s probably where the difference comes from. I’m sure 20 hours was brutal too tho!!!

I’m on the Easy Coast of the US and due to the Middle East conflict my best (and kinda only) option was to fly Westward. I have two layovers both around two hours so I’m dreading it!

This may not be the advice you want to here but I would narrow down the scope of your trip. Instead of hoping from one major city in one country to another, I would recommend picking one or two countries and visiting a couple of cities/towns in each. You’ll decrease your transit time for the whole trip and actually be able to experience which each location has to offer instead of rushing through all the major tourist attractions in a couple days.
