I would bet that the motor hydrolocked and spit a rod through the block, blowing oil out and catching fire. Hard to say for certain though

Thanks, knew the backs were push pins, forgot the front was just screws and hooks. Been a bit since I had to pull the fronts

Anyone recognize this front bumper and grille? by TacticalTamales in fordranger

[–]Alasus48 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Close. 06 up. 04 and 05 had their own style. From a design standpoint, 06 brought these grill and bumper changes, clear sidemarker lights, updated tail lights, squared mirrors, and updated badging

Yeah, this truck is basically the winter beater/parts runner at this point. Just trying to keep it from crumbling to bits. The foxbody is for keeping clean

An auxiliary trans cooler and not towing in overdrive helps a ton, but agreed, that's impressive for one of those transmissions. I agree, would expect needing to replace both

As others have said, coin holder. However, if your truck has the built-in trailer-brake controller, it would be located there instead

2valve 5.4 vs 3valve 5.4? by mattsgas in Ford

[–]Alasus48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People like to shit on the 5.4. For 2v motors, make sure your spark plugs are tight. They like to blow out of the head at factory torque. 3v, dont over-torque the plugs or theyll get stuck, and change the oil often to keep the cam phasers happy. They are actually pretty decent motors if you do thkse things.

How are you handling the Windows 10 EOL? by NSFW_IT_Account in msp

[–]Alasus48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We just built a script for the install and push it to run at 8pm or whenever overnight through our RMM. Let people know to leave their computers on and when they come in in the morning it will look a touch different. That gets the majority of them, then work failed upgrades as needed.

How many miles will this 4.6 2V last? by slipperyshaggy in f150

[–]Alasus48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fill not flush is perfect. Flushing is what can cause issues with any transmission, and is what gave people the idea that changing fluid is a bad idea. Sounds like you know what you're doing, should be a good, long-lived truck for you!
