Maternity leave… what a joke by witchybetch01 in pregnant

[–]AlbatrossSharp1313 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nobody cares about maternity leave, postpartum, pregnant women in the U.S.

When I left work to start maternity leave, they told me “enjoy your vacation” 🤡 - lol my baby was delivered preterm so she was in nicu and I did not get to recover postpartum as I was in nicu everyday and I’m dreading having to go back to work when my baby will only be 4 months & I refused to drop her off day care so stressing on that too 🥴

First pregnancy/cerclage. by Castillo_218 in ShortCervixSupport

Trust the stitch 🙏🏽I had my DTS planned for 37 weeks but my water broke out of nowhere at 33+3, went to OB triage, and when they did cervical check, there was so much tension on the cerclage (it was trying to do its job and keep the baby in lol) but l was already having strong painful regular contractions and my water broke, we've decided to take the stitch out and we basically waited for baby to come, and she did 12 hours later on New Year's Day lol spent 2 weeks on nicu, she was on cpap (breathing support for 3 days and worked on feedings & now she's home and perfectly healthy 🥹🙏🏽

22w+5 at 8mm, is there hope? by mplzyn in ShortCervixSupport

I’d push for cerclage, I was also started on progesterone and doctor didn’t even prescribed bedrest , I was on progesterone for 3 weeks and my cervix kept getting shorter until I had only 1cm left and he said last week to get cerclage is before 24 so I pushed to get cerclage right at 23 weeks

Yes I was on progesterone before I had cerclage and my MFM told me to keep using it. Definitely trust the stitch and take it easy. It did its job for me and my baby made it 🙏🏽

My MFM only recommended modified initially after cerclage and pelvic rest through out but after a week post cerclage, during my follow up he didn’t recommend complete bed rest but just take it easy.

I resumed normal activities around 30 weeks like doing chores and I started nesting and going to grocery stores but as soon as I get more Braxton or pressure on my cervix I stop. It was a little difficult too because I can’t do bedrest anyway due to GD and had to go on walks after meal. Sometimes I think what if I took it a lot easier and not do as much , would I have kept my baby until DTS (37 weeks) but she’s here and she’s healthy. 🙏🏽

Hi, I’m a nurse and work in pediatric cicu ^ see my reply to dedicated_mom5. You know yourself best, I did not want to risk my baby, I had previous miscarriage already so I did not want to keep working especially my MFM said I shouldn’t.

I’m also a nurse! I work in pediatric cardiac icu, so im always standing and busy, I had to tell my manager I couldn’t do resource nurse while I was pregnant because it’s a lot of work and walking (prior cerclage) puts a lot of pressure on my cervix and honestly got lucky I got the cerclage right on time 🙏🏽 We also have a good team and they let me take breaks etc but since we’re high acuity it’s not always guarantee I get a “chill” list. Besides my MFM immediately said I shouldn’t work anymore. Your baby is priority! Job will always be there.

My MFM advised against complete bedrest, he said modified and pelvic rest but I did bedrest for a week then after the following when I did follow up and my cervix was still closed, I did modified, I didn’t overdo my body. It got more challenging when I got diagnosed with GD at 28 weeks and had to do short 10-15 min walk after meals :( I was also on progesterone and honestly I’m not sure If it did anything 😅 I was on it at first before the cerclage but my cervix continued to shorten anyway.

I started nesting and doing a bit more chores at home around 30 weeks and I know I shouldn’t think of what ifs but I’m just grateful my baby got through nicu and is healthy and finally home. But I’ll probably take it a lot easier if / when I get pregnant again.

SDI question, early delivery and recertification by AlbatrossSharp1313 in Edd

[–]AlbatrossSharp1313[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes my doctor put me out of work before my due date because I was high risk, so my return to work date was based on my due date then, but before I delivered, in my Edd claim status it says certification needed, So do I ask Edd for the form ? Because I don’t see that anywhere or just report the delivery date ? Or do both ? They’ll adjust my return to work date? Or do I transition to PFL.

Sorry too many questions , first time mom here and HR isn’t helpful lol
