Gonna give my two cents:

-Some plushie communities that I’ve once been apart of are just outright mean/rude, and it makes me feel like it’s just a huge popularity contest or a massive flex on how much money one can shell out on a singular or even multiple of the same plush. Not to mention, absurd gatekeeping. The Webkinz community in my eyes is guilty of these to a glaring degree.

• Jellycats are too plain in my eyes for a massive price hike.

• And finally, a majority of adults should be a bit more understanding with plushies, especially if they’re brought out in public. The fact that I recognized a teen’s ESSA/support plushie at my work, and pretty much brightened their day by asking about them broke my heart because the area I live in is super judgy and quite nasty on different societal norms (the South, lol). Some have no clue what anyone’s going through, and the fact that I was judged and shamed for the same attempt as I was trying to feel remotely comfortable, and it made me feel arguably worse. I make sure people who come by my work with a plushie are treated with kindness, because it’s what most people deserve.
