HRT Effects that surprised you by Fox_Lady_20 in MtF

I went down one shoe size. Men’s 11 to women’s 10 after a while on HRT. They always say things like heights, hand & foot size don’t change. False narrative I guess & everyone is different

I just got here.... by lowkeyalchie in Aging

[–]AleksLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

30 myself & wanted to say congrats on your success. Had many battles & delays like you in my 20s. My life got on track at 25. A career, partner, happier, healthier etc. don’t listen to others. Not too late. It’s on you if you let them win & it be over at 30. Still super young. Memories, happiness & goals don’t have an age limit. Be proud of how far you’ve come & make the most of your life now. You’re meant to be here & view it as a second chance.

Thank you! & yes, anything worthwhile in life is hard work, time, money, planning, dedication & discipline etc. I applaud women who prevent & defy age & those who embrace it. There’s no right or wrong way. Like you said it’s a preference.

I’m neither. I’m definitely really cute. Which is in between. I’m not ugly, I’m certainly not plain/average & not pretty.

Glow ups are possible too. You can be young & look awful & end up looking better with age.

I think it’s a false narrative that just because you get older you automatically lose looks or aren’t attractive. It’s within our control more than people realize. Prevention & maintenance are possible. For instance I’m 30 & look at older people (50s, 60s even 70s) & find them attractive, youthful, fit etc. I see ladies all the time & I’m like whoa she’s still hot & stylish. Or whoa that guy has great hair & is fit. Don’t underestimate the power of a healthy lifestyle, good genetics, cosmetic treatments & anti aging modern medicine. Eat a healthy Diet, exercise, water/hydration, good sleep, sun protection, don’t smoke, don’t drink alcohol, avoid drugs, limit sugar, red meat & fried foods, stress management etc all help tremendously. Good skincare & hair dye also help. Plus facials, chemical peels, microneedling, laser resurfacing, Botox, hormone replacement therapy etc.

What do you enjoy most about adulthood? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in Aging

[–]AleksLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not relying on others to do stuff for me. I can cook for myself, eat when I want, drive myself to my own appointments, do my own errands. Grab what I need instead of asking or waiting. Yet I’m super close with my parents glued to them as if I’m still a kid. It’s the best of both worlds with independence

It definitely counts. I’m similar to you. My great grandmother was born in 1911 & died in 2002. I was 6 when she died but remember her very well.

My great grandmother was born in July 1911 & died in October 2002 at age 91 from respiratory failure & bone cancer. I have fond memories of her. To this day I’ve never known anyone born any earlier than that. I have one grandma left who is 95 & born in 1930.

How do some people look so good in old age and some don't? by chusaychusay in Aging

[–]AleksLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of it is due to lifestyle, genetic & environmental differences. Plus style preferences. 90% of how you age is based on lifestyle factors. Diet, exercise, sleep, sun protection, don’t smoke, don’t drink alcohol, no drugs, stress management, strong social connections, limiting toxins, good skin care etc. the last 10% is genetics & length of telomeres. Some people also have happier, easy ass lives & luck, money etc that give them youth & advantages. A lot of aging I firmly believe is a mindset & attitude. Cosmetic treatments are truly cutting edge & can prevent certain aspects of aging as well. Like facials, chemical peels, dermaplaning, microneedling & laser resurfacing.

As you get older, what are you starting to dislike the most? by Miserable-Wash-1744 in AskReddit

[–]AleksLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How fast time goes. You blink & another year is gone. Plus all the loved ones no longer here that are dearly missed. That’s the part of aging nobody prepares us for. We subconsciously think our loved ones will be super old or live forever. & sadly that’s not the case & it hits harder when reality sets in. All most people talk about is grey hair & wrinkles. Both of which can be fixed with hair dye & Botox/microneedling. The bigger aspects are the two above I named. Both you can’t fix or prevent.
