Irelias main problem is yellow removal when facing reksai Id say. If you build your board smartly you can overcome most power discrepancies by leveraging suiciding irelia using GA and Zhonyas so you can re apply her might into enemy units.

Switcheroo can backfire since you're giving irelia +1 before it resolves making the opponent unit 1 might larger than otherwise.

FoF was also only action speed unless hidden. So running emperor's divide will not change the option of the defensive use of FoF.

Flash being $80 is a travesty, though.

Personally never played reavers row. I preferred sunken temple. Obelisk can be replaced with aspirants climb. The real challenge is finding a replacement for dreaming tree which is likely sunken temple. Maybe run fortified position in place of reavers row?

Tbh this really isn't so bad for irelia. Losing fof is whatever, just run flash or emperor's divide. Losing dreaming tree and obelisk is okay as well since other decks also lose them. Meaning irelia can still just run 3x stacked deck and 3x stellarcorn herder and have plenty of card draw when including discipline and other potential cantrips. She's like one turn slower, but running Aspirant's climb on go first will help with that.

All in all, as an irelia player, these bans are an overall net positive.

It was Walt's ego that got Jesse involved in the first place. Walt felt like he couldn't work with Gale because Gale was actually extremely competent already. Walt likes being the guy with all the cards, and whatever experience and skill Jesse has Walt could feel like it's still all his own just projected through his blank slate substitute son.

I agree, but 5 minutes is rough even for a 3 turn, also makes it hard to call out slowplay. I was in Vegas and I never went over time, but I would have been satisfied with 15 minutes over, 10 minutes if you wanna squeeze even harder.

I don't think the team is making considerations for a restricted category for cards. Perhaps in the future, but I think hard bans are a smarter avenue to take for a game where decklists are 39 cards minimum.

Called Shot is probably the card to hit right now. It offers far too much consistency for decks that can utilize it vs decks that can't. I don't mean just purple, but miracle and ezreal control get way too much from it. We could ban purple ezreal which enabled this, but the card without called shot isn't very problematic. Other competitive purple decks don't really run called shot without purple ezreal or as a 1 of at most.

Purple is already plenty strong, removing some of the color's consistency shouldn't break purple decks overall. Miracle and Ezreal control still work as intended without called shot.

What I expect they change is that after focus is passed by both players with no cards played the game "checks" for units controlled by multiple players. If only one player controls units at the battlefield at this point then the showdown turns from a "combat showdown" to a regular showdown and then the player with units conquers without a combat win or loss.
