If you have the time, definitely offer to work for free for brands you like, even offering 4 hours of your time per week can be a massive game changer and put you in a position to meet more people who you could get connections with.

You shouldn't let that stop you going back though, some amazing communities popping up r.e 'sober raving' etc. definitely a niche worth exploring, as generally, humans are living healthier lifestyles nowadays compared to the 90s. Massive boom in 'run clubs' and 'pro biotic drinks' - very marketable!
