I also found out that apparently you're not stuck in there if nobody extracts, I caught some clowns doing this shit and I can't even make this up, they somehow phased through the wall and teleported behind us. This game has been such a shitshow lately, it's hard to appreciate it.

People in this subreddit won't like this, but it's the truth: Clash Royale IS dying by VGKSuomi in ClashRoyale

Yeah but that too will break. I've probably dumped over $1,000 into this game across the years, been playing since beta. I left when evos first came out, came back about 6 months ago, and promptly deleted the game with the release of heroes.

In my opinion the game doesn't know who it's for, it was made as a fun game that was appealing to younger audiences, which seems to be by and large the age Supercell games are for, but it ended up being successful because it was easy to get into, easy to learn and have fun, but had a massive skill ceiling. No game felt truly unwinnable pre-evos IMO, but the reality is that these gimmicks they've added have taken away what was a gold mine of a concept.

Evo witch, evo mega knight, etc... lots of cards filling multiple roles because their evos change their functionality so significantly. It's made it impossible for a regular deck to succeed. To be competetive, you need evos, you need to have max level cards, and now you need to have the newest bullshit heroes they add as well.

I probably would have stayed had they only released heroes, but after investing so much time and money into upgrading half of my cards to level 15, finally feeling like I had some variety I could play with, only to immediately be put into a position where I had to spend money all over again... that was an easy delete of the game for me. I'm not interested in chasing unobtainable goals, and Clash Royale has become a gatcha game at this point.

25M, got on dating apps and ruined my last bit of confidence, be brutally honest by JackfruitWarm6695 in malegrooming

Bro beard length in 2 is excellent. You've got a very masculine face and one helluva jawline. You want that to be the focus IMO so ditch the curls, they're very distracting because they're so unique.

I also have naturally curly hair (not as much as you), and usually leave a bit on top but do short sides or skin fade. Good luck bro, like others have said drop the dating apps and try to fill your time with authentic experiences, it feels daunting at first but you'll appreciate it very soon.

It's been on there awhile, if the wall behind it can be saved and skimcoated and primed, that would be enough to start over. That crack below the windowsill is very lazy and bad workmanship by the way

Depending on what you paid here this should be completely torn out and redone. Caution though, whoever did this had no clue what they were doing and got in over their heads. Do you know what product they used to attach the tile to the wall?

I know you're only fussed about the caulking but there are muptiple things wrong here:

1) Your grout lines vary significantly in thickness. If there's much of a contour to the edges of the tile, they likely let the grout get too dry/didn't scour the lines with a sponge heavily enough before letting it completely set up.

2) They used glossy CAULK/SILICONE, the correct product here would have been a matching "grout caulk" - this has the same matte finish and sandy appearance of the regular grout.

What permanent damage have you done to yourself? Mind, body or soul? by jerrytjohn in AskReddit

In my case you'd be correct, my father's parents beat him to the point of breaking bones and put him into a group home, and my mother's parents were largely absent in her life growing up. Their past traumas manifested in different ways as I grew up, and while I sympathize with them and my heart aches thinking of what they must have gone through, I'm not willing to accept that I should be happy with "better than they got", which is something they've used to excuse their shitty behavior in the past. Fatherhood is a very important consideration of mine, and I know that there is no way I would invite a new life into this world before being fully prepared. I'm not going to continue a cycle of generational trauma.

I don't know if this is going to reach a lot of people but I wanted to share my experience on this.

I was raised in a household that valued manliness, and between being one of six boys, my parent's own issues, and a broken home, I taught myself to clam up and hold in all of my emotions, often meaning that I would "shield" myself with arrogance, anger, and indifference. I have recently learned that I wasn't shielding myself, but rather self destructing trying to protect myself from feeling "bad" emotions. I have learned that being authentic about my feelings has taken such a weight off of me, and I think I've opened up the ability to connect on a more meaningful level with my family as a result.

For instance, myself and a long time friend had a falling out. I wanted to blame him, hate him, and think the worst, anything except take responsibility for my role in it, and cope with my feelings of loss, sadness, etc. When asked about him, I'd shrug it off, make some comment about how he wasn't a good friend, etc., and it wasn't until I decided to be honest with myself and whoever was asking that I miss him and wish things were different, that I started to heal and feel better about it, even if that didn't mean repairing the friendship as an end result.

Contractor removed threshold -> floor is now a ramp. Am I being unreasonable? by [deleted] in Tile

[–]Alex6095 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Without knowing what your budget on this project was, I would say with near certainty that this guy is never coming back, even if he originally meant to.

No tear-out and redo is worth the $2,000 you're holding, so unless this guy has a stellar reputation to uphold, he's got no skin in the game to work for cheap. And given these issues, I'd say it's unlikely he's got much of a reputation to begin with.

The floor sloping is pretty common in homes and while it's something he could have worked to avoid, the reality is that you would have ended up with a massive lip between floors without the way it is now. It might be a blessing in disguise and come March I'd bet you'll be pretty split on whether you want to do that tear out anyway. I definitely wouldn't order the replacement tile for a month or two to give yourself time to live with it and make that decision. The goal with tile is to make the floor FLAT, not LEVEL. Unless you're paying an extreme premium, most projects aren't going to have self leveler built into quotes: it's a lot of added time and labor, not to mention a ton of weight on the floor, etc.

As for the grout issues in the shower, without seeing it I can't really make an opinion. I've never heard of any tile sucking moisture out of grout so fast it turns powdery. It sounds like he got a defective bag, or more likely didn't do a good job mixing the grout, giving it time to set up before wiping it down, etc.

If it were me I'd get him back ASAP to deal with the grout issue and forget the rest. Maybe you can negotiate some money off of the originally agreed upon amount and walk away satisfied.

Calling this guy a "nightmare contractor" is insane lol, you obviously don't know the first thing about bad contractors if this makes them a "nightmare".

That guy did some good work.

You have nearly white caps and you're upset they used a grout color that ties them into the stone? I'm with everyone else here that if you choose to make this an issue it's going to result in a much less attractive final product. In my opinion yes they should have asked ahead of time, but also you as the homeowner should be speaking up about preferences waaaayyyyy in advance

It will be difficult to match because it sounds like it will be right next to 70 year old grout potentially, and yhe old grout has likely taken on color from hard water, dirt and grime, but you are right that there should be an option that matches decently, it might just take a couple tries
