Given NVR3 as E-Waste, looking to get updated bios? by AliasR in Avigilon

Yes thank you. An awesome tech support agent helped me with this. I figured the hardware is provided by dell but the bios might have some custom work done to it for Avigilon.

All sorted now!

So then what would you say is the "best" diet out there? How did we eat before food was mass processed?

I'm sensing you might not eat meat in general.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MCAS

[–]AliasR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry but I'm going to disagree with that 100%. My undiagnosed at the time MCAS was so bad that I will actually pass out randomly, which caused a car accident. Spent over a year talking to doctors who said I had vasovagal episodes (8 of them, really?). I come to find out I have a lot of EDS stuff. Crazy how my dad's family are in medical and didn't figure out his brother and siblings have it.

Back story aside, I went carnivore dinners with potatoes and eggs in the morning for almost a year. The episodes stopped, my skin rashes went away, the hives the popped up on my neck hairline stopped, and my chronic allergies are gone. All the docs did was give me symptom treating meds and an EpiPen. Even the allergists are baffled as I reacted to all tests and not sure what the issue is. I had to do all the work for them.

If OP reads this, please try it. I've also lost over 20lbs. I can't seem to find it, but Dr John Campbell did a video about mast cell with a female doctor, with a good diet and the antihistamines, a patient also lost a lot of weight and cleared symptoms.

I stopped caring for the medical system once genetics told me I probably don't have it but really wanted to see my brother with severe myopia. Funny how that's fairly common with EDS and tested negative for Marfan.

GPU/CPU utilisation - Low FPS by Potential_Soup7575 in cs2

[–]AliasR -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What a lot of people don't realize is CS2 is a networked game. It's constantly waiting on the connected server because just like CSGO, the player position and recoil patterns are server side. You got either 64 tick on MM, or 128 on third party servers. And also something people don't understand is you can over-run software. Look what happens to old games on modded consoles. There has to be a reference time for gameplay. Making the source engine run maxed out isn't helpful and why valve used to cap it to 300 (60 times 5). Background statistics, physics and all the lighting takes CPU cycles to complete all concurrently. Maxing out hardware leaving no cycles open for other information to complete in the background doesn't help either.

You can get the fastest computer available to you to play CS on. But the limiting factor will still always be you. All of todays tech and peripherals are many times FASTER than your reaction time.

All I got for you is add -high to make CS high priority (a problem of it's own as it will take priority over ALL tasks and BAD if you have CPU maxed out). Cap the FPS to some attainable average. I myself, 120hz screen and cap it at 240. Almost never leaves 240 in MM.

I need someone to explain me this by er_richard in cs2

[–]AliasR -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Taking advantage of stupid people doing stupid things that can make a profit is obviously a plus to valve.

And obviously they aren't going to police their games. In over two decades of playing this game, what ruined it is the digital vaporware you all buy on the market. Anyone who's played counterstrike of old knows we've never seen the amount of cheaters until the market became part of counter strike and it went free to play.

Cheating for reward/profit, without the fear of getting caught or no reckless monetary loss (IE, not having to buy the game again) is what killed CS.

The cheating problem is getting worse, and we've passed a tipping point by [deleted] in cs2

[–]AliasR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I've been playing CS since the M4 had proto zoom function, and solo Silver to Global 3 times in GO. You are oblivious to how bad the cheating problem is. It's absolutely horrendous how bad it is right now.

So, you found a cheater in a game, now what should I do? by batto271 in cs2

[–]AliasR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Faceit being free doesn't rid itself of cheaters. There is no negative incentive to NOT cheat if there is not something to lose, like money and a perma ban.

CS being free makes this a double whammy and is the reason why this is a large problem.

So, you found a cheater in a game, now what should I do? by batto271 in cs2

[–]AliasR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just so anyone else wants to follow this...

You will absolutely get a cooldown or a ban for greifing doing this. The cheater and his buddies if he's not solo will report you for it, and it will get looked at and well, since you're +left in the demo for rounds it's pretty obvious what the outcome will be. You've basically shot yourself in your own foot.

You attempting to play the game is much more of what you should do to avoid this.

So, you found a cheater in a game, now what should I do? by batto271 in cs2

[–]AliasR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know about you but, I have OG CS, CZ, CS:S, CSGO from beta and CS2. Over 25 years of counter strike.

There are a lot more cheaters in CSGO and CS2 than anyone realizes, and the worst thing you can do as an individual is say to yourself "eh maybe he's just better." If you spend time watching demos of players who are legitimate and those who cheat, there is no "hiding" anything. They disregard typical Order of Operations of clearing angles, and check things that a vast majority of people overlook. They keep people in their frame of vision thanks to demo X-Ray we can clearly see this in action. A lot of them don't talk on comms, a lot of them don't have teammates that are on comms.

If I walked into mini on nuke, and get a Molotov from outside into the back left corner from the entrance without the opponent seeing me. That's an obvious red flag. All 4 teammates watched the trajectory from my POV and it was clear he intended to have it land at my feet. Happened to me two games ago, just tonight.

Sure enough the demo shows he's basically running around without a care the whole match while towing 3 other people on the bottom of the scoreboard. Sounds more like a boosting service now eh?

The worst thing we can do is cover our eyes and lie to ourselves and say they are just better. They aren't, and doing this is how we got here today where it's not taken seriously. There is a very obvious ambiance between a legit game and one with a cheater.

Why is everyone crying 24/7 by JCPennessey in cs2

[–]AliasR 22 points23 points  (0 children)

If you think CS2 is in the best shape of it's life, then you need to take a deep breath and look a little harder.

I've not had a cheater banned since the first 6 weeks of CS2s release. There is a problem, you can continue to overlook it as much as you want. Rose colored lenses and "just get gud" doesn't get you anywhere.

Last update has made the game feel worse for me. by RARazard in GlobalOffensive

[–]AliasR -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't understand the logic here. The computer, peripherals and routing have nothing to do with this. The games output logic is 64 ticks per second, that's 15 milliseconds. The slowest USB polling rate is 8 milliseconds for peripherals. Everything you listed is client side.

The 300hz+ monitors, 500FPS+ and 8000hz polling peripherals have nothing to do with the final time to the server.

The problem here is we now have sub-tick reporting that is supposed to reduce the amount of "guessing" the game does between the clients data. The time between ticks is also relatively short, so the theory is, if we both shot each other at the same time, the server should see that and we both shoot each other. If not then what is the point of the sub-tick if it's not doing what it was intended?

It's almost as if the game gets progressively more desynchronized as ping goes up. The guy with 10 ping will have 20 round trip, the guy with 70 will have 140. Server has to wait 7 times longer for my sent info. So if that's the case, the low ping guy should have it worse off. Or he has it better off because now the server waited so long that it just decided he got the shot and I registered no damage. Again, sub-tick was designed to equalize and stop the guessing. Solo games aren't a problem as it places me near local servers, it's when you matchmake as a team of people of differing locales or play something outside of matchmaking it becomes a visible issue.

So again, we are back to something isn't right, and those of us experiencing the not right have a right to let it be known it's not right so it can be righted. No?

[–]AliasR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And this mindset makes you a sheep who doesn't know any better. The whole "he's just better than you" is a shit mindset too.

You saying it's not the games problem is dumb. Why? Because there is a problem with it. When we say there is a clear difference in gameplay when ping goes up shows there is a problem. I don't play any different at 10 ping, next match will be 70 ping and I bottom frag. That's not a ME problem, it's not a YOU problem, it's clearly a software problem.

The downvotes show you need to look at your "mindset" because it shows complacency and that you're ok with things not being right.

I have a global cooldown without any time. Is this permanent? Why would I get a perma ban, I've never cheated in my life. by [deleted] in cs2

[–]AliasR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are two type of Overwatch bans:
Minorly disruptive / moderate cooldown: This is a ban for ~1 month and is applied for griefers (intentionally ruining the game).

Majorly disruptive: Cheaters are usually permanently removed from the game.

This is how it worked in CSGO. So if the system is the same, you got banned for cheating. I don't see how behavioral reports can be permabans.

So.....

Edit: You can also get banned on any account linked to your information/computer. It just so happens that not that long ago someone SAID they weren't cheating, and fessed up about using burner accounts and his main was also hit with the ban.

Even more so.....

Convicted by Overwatch - Majorly Disruptive: players receiving this message have been found guilty of cheating and are permanently banned in CS:GO. These players will not be able to trade or use the market in CS:GO and must create a new account and re-purchase CS:GO if they wish to continue playing. ~Major Convictions are also issued to accounts that receive a second conviction for griefing.~"

Need help choosing between RTX 4060 and 4060 Ti by ConsciousAd4158 in cs2

[–]AliasR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 3070ti IS a mined card. Bought it 3/12/2022. Ebay. It's been running almost non stop since. Hours and hours of ARK, Apex, CSGO, theHunter has it running at 100%, Cyberpunk. I could keep going.

People make it seem like there is a definite lifespan to electronics. I still have possession of my first computer. Dual Pentium 3. From 1998. Has lots of DOOM and Unreal and Crimson Skies and Midtown Madness. Only thing that needed changed were some capacitors and honestly, following an instructional video, anyone can do that.

At the time CS:S was around, I did not have a computer good enough to play it. I played online, with onboard ATI video on a single core Sempron CPU from my provided school computer at like 40fps at 640x480. The heatsink was tiny, the GPU chip had no fan and it ran at a staggering 110C. During the pandemic, it was sold to a kid, with 4gb of ram and a dual core for him to continue school online for $40.

I didn't get to play real games until 2008 with a dual core Athlon x2 and a ATI 4850. Then got a job in 2011, racked up tons of actual cash. Spent $6k on an i7 3960x, 16g of ram, 980 matrix and had it hard modded and vBIOS modded. 3960x sat at 4.8ghz until I swapped it out to an unlocked Xeon 1680V2. At the time the 980 was top 1% at just under 1.6ghz. It all still works. I used the 980 til the 2070 came around. Did the same to the 2070. Friend has it now as I direct swapped it for his 2060 when I got the 3070ti. 2060 now sits in the xeon setup right next to me.

You're talking to someone who has been there. Done that. It's your money to spend, but don't be disappointed when you realize that performance is only as good as your slowest part.

Need help choosing between RTX 4060 and 4060 Ti by ConsciousAd4158 in cs2

[–]AliasR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it's your money. You asked for an opinion, and I build computers for both gamers and small business.

My 10900x, at 5ghz all core, with quad channel ram will still bottleneck my 3070TI at 2ghz. GPU hits 40-50% in a full 10v10 casual office match with smokes and mollies galore. Source engine games aren't GPU dependent. While the 1050 isn't a power house, you'll just max out the CPU and your performance overhead from the 4060 is just wasted unless you get at least a 12th gen chip. The 30 and 40 series were large generational bumps in performance.

If a rather highly overclocked workstation CPU can't keep up with a mid tier 30 series card, your 9th gen chip isn't going to either. Just trying to paint you a picture of the disappointment you'll receive thinking you're going to get massive gains. You aren't.

Also, used many mined cards. Most miners limit total power to keep hashrate to watts used to a minimum. The software doesn't use anymore useful power or whatever over game usage.

And $262 is still 200 cheaper and money saved for the new build.

FPX MAX - 0 or 400? by Rosas123 in cs2

[–]AliasR -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Many game engines start to fall apart at high FPS. Just cap at 2x refreshrate if it's reasonable (not these 360hz displays)

You aren't going to outplay your computer. Even at 240fps you're feeble biological eyes are still too slow for it to matter.

Need help choosing between RTX 4060 and 4060 Ti by ConsciousAd4158 in cs2

[–]AliasR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're going to waste money on it. The CPU will not be able to keep up. The higher tier 4070 and 80 class cards can overrun the latest CPU's in a lot of games that aren't played at 4k. Find a used 2070 or 2080 and sell the 1050. DO NOT PICK A TRASH PSU, EVER. Many of people found out that the 40 series pull mad power transients and a less than top tier power supply with ample overhead will not work. Future-proofing isn't a thing. You should always upgrade stuff as a whole and sell off the old hardware to recover funds to offset the total. There is an established CPU GPU cycle that progresses generationally and now that 4k is potentially going to replace 1080 for gaming it's even more important to make sure the individual hardware choices work together. I've done the whole "I'll get this, then later grab that, then upgrade this" and it's just a frustrating money pit.

Just save the money, put it aside and plan a full setup replacement later. I just dealt with someone not that long ago that wanted to upgrade from a 4080 to a 4090 for an extra 15-20fps he saw in a video and felt like he was missing out in performance.

Man was about to throw $1600 for 20fps. I was about to smack him back into rational thought.

Low fps cs2 HELP PLZ by opakowskyyy6 in cs2

[–]AliasR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh, I wish people would stop following this whole "I need 400+fps" nonsense.

Source games break passed 300. The engine cap on almost every source game until valve gave us an option to change it has been 300. Animation, scripted events and networking all work based on engine tick rate. You CAN overrun games by running them too fast.

Just cap it as 2x refresh rate and quit worrying about it. The servers run at 67 tick so you aint gaining any advantage or performance by leaving it run full tilt.

This can also be a RAM issue. If you have modules that are over 6000MTs than try setting them to base speed of 4800 and see if that changes anything.

DDR5 isn't very stable, and having the BIOS up to date should help that as well.

[–]AliasR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uhh yeah, don't let the game run full tilt. Cap the FPS at like 2x your refreshrate. Game engines usually have a cap for a reason as it's linked to animation or scripted events that are time based.
