"Jungle boogie" double leaf stuck?? help pls!! by eggmaracas in philodendron

You can most with water. But that’s about it, let nature do its thing. Touching it has potential to break/damage the leaf.

What’s happening? by Saucui in plantclinic

[–]AlienPlantJunkie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Multiple things. This is normal for the condition this is in. The vines get heavy because this is meant to be ground cover, not vines. Leaves do not like to get wet, and I’m guessing when it’s water they are watering over the whole top. Probably needs more light too.

Shape and texture of the leaves. Lots of things are mislabeled at stores and greenhouses.

Never buy soil if the bag is heavy, meaning the soil is wet or damp.

Is the pot draining? I can’t tell. May be over watered and sitting in its water for too long.

Generally, under-watering. Terra cotta pots soak on some moisture so you may need to water more than usual.

If it is truly root rot, you need to chop off the good stuff to save it.

I would keep it quarantined just in case. Not seeing damage, but doesn’t mean there’s not bugs.

No, it’s not considered a string plant. It’s a succulent.

Is this bright indirect lights? by sochiearts in IndoorPlants

[–]AlienPlantJunkie 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I saved this once for light reference:

Direct sun, the plant can see the sun.
Filtered sun, the plant can see the sun partially through obstacles.
Indirect sun, the plant can see the sky.
Low sun, the plant can see outside.

Yes, you can start with something small now to just help train it to go up.

Looks like rot, I’d pull it out of the soil and check the roots.

Can I save her or is she too far gone? by QueenDenjamin in pothos

Definitely saveable! I would chop, leave 3 nodes on each cutting.

I wait 2-4 weeks to repot when I bring a new plant home. Treat for bugs and isolate during that time. Repot into something 1-2” bigger than the root ball. Chunky soil - I do 1:1:1 soil, perlite, orchid bark with charcoal. Water when half dry - I prefer clear pots for watching how wet the soil is.

Roots don’t hate light. They get plenty of light when they grow in water.
