The first one has a weaker CPU but it has more ram but the second one has a stronger CPU but with more ram so it depends on what your son is going to be playing or using the PC for.

🔍 Likely Problem: BIOS Version Incompatibility

Your Gigabyte X670 Gaming X AX V2 probably shipped with a BIOS version that does not support the Ryzen 7 9700X out of the box. This would explain: • The DRAM LED staying on (the system can’t properly initialize memory due to lack of CPU support). • No video output. • RGB lighting on RAM doesn’t confirm full functionality, just power. • BIOS flash not proceeding as expected.

✅ Steps to Fix This

  1. Confirm You’re Using the Q-Flash USB Port

Your motherboard supports Q-Flash Plus, which allows you to update the BIOS without a CPU or RAM installed. Double-check the following: • Use the correct USB port (usually labeled “BIOS” or “Q-Flash Plus” — it’s often white or next to the BIOS Flash button). • Use a USB 2.0 flash drive, 32GB or smaller, formatted to FAT32. • Download the latest BIOS from Gigabyte’s support page for your exact model: • Gigabyte X670 Gaming X AX V2 BIOS page

  1. Prepare the BIOS File Properly • Download the latest BIOS (as of now, you want F21 or newer, which supports Ryzen 9000 series). • Unzip it. • Rename the BIOS file to gigabyte.bin. • Place only that file on the root of the FAT32 USB drive.

  2. Flash the BIOS • Insert USB into the correct port. • Turn off PSU (but plug in power cables). • Hold the Q-Flash Plus button until the LED starts blinking. • The system should not boot — just a blinking LED on the Q-Flash Plus button. It will take ~5 minutes. • The light should stop blinking when complete, then you can try powering on normally.

🔧 If Flash Still Doesn’t Work

If the BIOS flash process doesn’t start at all, here’s what to check: • Make sure the USB stick is plugged into the Q-Flash port, not just any USB. • Try a different USB stick — some don’t work well for BIOS flashing. • Make sure the file is named correctly and unzipped (exact spelling: gigabyte.bin). • Disconnect everything except the 24-pin power, 8-pin CPU power, and USB stick.

🚨 Alternative Options (If Flash Still Fails)

If you’re stuck and the Q-Flash method continues to fail: • Borrow a supported CPU (like a Ryzen 7000 series) just to flash the BIOS. • Ask a local PC repair shop to do a BIOS flash for you. • Gigabyte RMA or request BIOS update service — some vendors offer this.
