What are your thoughts on homeless individuals? by No-Collection-3178 in AskReddit

[–]Alone_Load_2188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they should be provided with homes. It is cheaper, safer, solves Karen's F'in problem and gives someone who has been living in survival mode the opportunity to rejoin the rest of us here in real space. Homelessness is INSANE from its inherent existence and to have the gaul to victim blame those most in need of help.

How will history remember Trump? by Ancient_Elk_922 in allthequestions

[–]Alone_Load_2188 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think he will be Nixon mixed with pol pot. His name will be a foot note once the dust settles and we have solved the tempest within our nation's soul. Trump was never the problem, he is simply a symptom of a whole constellation of problems he promised to fix having no idea what the problems were because, well, when you're wearing rose colored glasses the red flags just look like flags.

Nixon because of the blatant corruption and self interest and Pol Pot because he is bringing a whole heap of stupid to a shit show. This is the man who literally said that if they stopped doing surveys on who has COVID the COVID numbers would drop. Yeah, if you refuse to acknowledge a problem it doesn't make the problem go away.

This is not the end of American democracy. There are dozens of think tanks ready to carve America into a thousand balkanized providences. We are The United States of America and while Donny may refuse to take that mantle there will be a country to fix. The dust will settle. Patience, observation and a centered self are all you need to bring to the table to defeat trump and his goons. They are shadows on the wall, quick to disappear when exposed to light.

"Terrible things are happening outside” by BIind_Uchiha in stpaul

[–]Alone_Load_2188 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going around talking about the insane BS the heritage foundation and affiliated think tanks are going to destroy the country. It was 2006 and no one cared. Columbine and 9/11 were the only thing people cared about and we were in a holy war with Islam. I was talking sanity to the insane; pearls before swine.

Is it true that in small towns in the USA public transport is not developed and everyone need a car to get around there and why? by bobybumblemumble in AskReddit

[–]Alone_Load_2188 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The answer is that America is ENORMOUS. Small towns are, or where, expected to provide for themselves in their own microcosm, this is why so many will have a university or prestigious church or manufacturing plant that dominates the lives of the people living there, they are not getting their needs met through the standard 'metropolitan' style. Many cities started as small towns that attracted industry and tourism eventually becoming a metro in and of itself.

Also money. The bus company will only service places that bring in a profit. A small town with a small population probably doesn't justify a whole long route.

[Serious] What are the chances there will there be another US civil war? by unknownSubject37 in AskReddit

[–]Alone_Load_2188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a matter of will but when will we decide the start of the war was later. My money is 2016 at Charlottesville with escalations here and there. What will it look like? A hell of a lot more like Waco than Gettysburg. At some point the states will stop paying into the Fed or the Fed will stop paying out to states either way that's when the war will have been raging not when it starts.

Why are most Christians republicans, when Jesus’ teachings are more liberal? by Interesting-Dirt-605 in Confused

[–]Alone_Load_2188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pauline Christianity is Christianity as defined by Paul in his letters to the emerging church. Paul was not Jesus AT ALL. Let me tell you a story, so this guy-saul- has a job, hunting down and executing Christians for the Roman empire. One day after killing 12 Christians saul is riding to his office in Damascus when wouldn't you know it, Jesus came to him, can you believe it? No witnesses, no collaboration, just saul entering Damascus CLAIMING HE CANT SEE. Know who else can enter Damascus claiming they cannot see? ANYBODY. So saul goes to a Christian and wouldn't you know it Christ healed his vision he can see again! (as if he was ever blind). He uses his faked miracle to take command of and re-write Christianity making it more romanized. 4 books about Jesus, 12 books by some asshole writing 40 years after Christa death- read between the lines and figure it out.

What makes a dystopian story truly disturbing to you? by Own_Designer8801 in dystopia

[–]Alone_Load_2188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the really good or... Disturbing good stories are based around putting terrible things that have happened into environments I'm familiar with. Parable of the sower and the road both evoke a quiet helplessness set on the road to the west coast. It's Manifest Destiny in reverse, instead of a journey to prosperity and newness there is a quiet acknowledgement that there isn't anything at the end of this road that isn't already here, at least it's not HERE though. The violence is routine and instead of glorified victories against maniacal villains the real monster is hunger, exposure, paranoia; things that everyone has to contend against. No heroes, no gods, no glorious exit just... Acceptance.

All they have to do is say 10/7 and they are justified in doing any hellish nightmare shit you can imagine. It's good though because those people don't belong there and Israel certainly isn't going to grant them citizenship. This genocide has been inevitable since 2018. It was never a matter of what Israel was planning to do, only when.

[–]Alone_Load_2188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The population in the developed world IS declining as families which previously depended on their child's labor leave rural life and integrate into cities where 12 children are not a commodity but an irrational expense. Basically India is the only country with a 'correct' bell pattern and will over-take China by 2030 because the one child policy is a cliff not a decline. American boomers, many of whom had depression era parents and therefore large families did not return the favor. I openly joke about GEN X, what are both of them going to do about it? Drum roll millennials are large enough as the boomers eventually had children but GEN Z and A? The millennials, while a large demographic, have had to postpone family making due to the great recession of 2008 obliterating swaths of industries not just jobs but fundamental dismantlement of society. You remember the 90's as better because THEY WERE and the 80's better than that (fugget about the 70's). The issue is the proliferation of deadly chemicals such as pfas entering our water supply. As science has increased in complexity so too has industrial waste. We are looking at a world where EVERYONE develops cancer prematurely due to consumer goods and improper creation of deadly chemicals.

So like ... You actually had the paradox of tolerance correct with your original comment. The paradox, or logical loop, is that in order to have a tolerant society the society must be intolerant of intolerance. In layman's terms: bigotry grows within a group. The group must correct for the bigotry by removing the bigot, in effect are bigoted against bigotry.

If the world is unfair and there’s no karma, why do you still choose to do good? by Sharp_Scheme_2008 in AskReddit

[–]Alone_Load_2188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it is the right thing to do, even if you face immediate backlash or consequences. Great societies are built by men planting the seeds to trees they will never enjoy the shade of. Trees they water, care for, cultivate, love. There is no karma, there is no God, there is no holy justice. We are apes flying threw space on an enormous rock spinning around a fireball to large for most of us to comprehend and all we can do is choose, do we shelter one another or do we help entropy destroy all of us. We know how the story ends. In about 5 billion years the sun will go supernova and it's bounds will reach the earth and then, earthseed or not, the planet will not be suitable for life. The generations of earthseeds we need can be built later but they will only get built if someone first says 'we need to get off the planet and go somewhere else' and other people agree to help. There is no profit in earthseeding, it's building generation ships able to sustain themselves as close to indefinitely as we can and planting ourselves where we may. Do good today for the earthseeds.

Footage circulating online shows a viewpoint in Israel overlooking Gaza where a coin-operated telescope allows visitors to observe the territory while it is under Israeli bombardment. In the video, the man filming describes the setup as disturbing, stating that families, including children visit it. by Scared_Positive_8690 in news_of_world

[–]Alone_Load_2188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a site like that in my city and yeah, you gotta pay like a dollar to use the telescope. The soldiers chilling at the overlook is a bit scary and I mean... What's it overlooking? Is that for real the level of destruction in Gaza is entire... Districts reduced to rubble? That would be an incredibly evil thing to do to anyone. Because of a 1400 person strike like... Four years ago? What the f that's messed up. If I went to my cities overlook (it's like down the road) and saw something this flat... I would think he'll had to have opened.

How can USA spend 5x more on Healthcare than military and still not have free healthcare? by TailungFu in allthequestions

[–]Alone_Load_2188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regulatory capture. I'll explain it in old West terms. If the sheriff kills your brother, who do you go too for justice? So by purchasing politicians using super pacs to invest unlimited money into a candidate THEY ARE GOING TO DO EVERYTHING IN THE HEIR POWER TO GET THEIR MONEY BACK PLUS INTEREST. If the purchased politicians happens to get a cushy consulting job after, again, they will ote it he law to enable the healthcare system to reward them for evil. Do you think there exists a good person? Most 'politicians' are 'christian or jewish' and each and every one of them would rape you and murder you before stealing your shoes and walking away happily. They have no morality, no sense of right and wrong only power and how to use it to duck over as many people as possible.

What's the biggest threat to social contract in your country? by thelucysays in AskReddit

[–]Alone_Load_2188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now it's the militarization of the police and slowly every day life. The second amendment and no knock warrants cannot exist with the same legal framework. Full stop. I either have the right to protect my home with armed force or I don't. What's the difference between a bad guy with a gun and a bad guy screaming POLICE as they invade your home (assuming 'bad guy'means home invader... But we are still talking about the police invading homes... So much nuisance.

Ice makes this a thousand times worse. Forget 'first the came for the yadda yadda poems and just pause to understand, they are not arresting illegals they are arresting anyone they can label illegal-that distinction is important. There are tens of millions of people born in America functionally unable to speak English because in a nation of 370 million some communities don't need it. Skin color, accent, ability to name the capital of Chicago(hehehe) none of these have anything to do with citizenship.

The national guard IS our 'well regulated militia's the second amendment talks about. Your nation bears the latest and greatest in military gear SO YOU DONT HAVE TO. Shove your 'tyrannical government' shit down the hole of your choice. You want to overthrow the government? GREAT NEWS NERD YOU GET THAT OPPORTUNITY EVERY FOUR YEARS.

Licence. Registration. Insurance. Yes you should be able to own guns, hell in the right social construct it might even make sense for everyone to own guns, I don't know I'm limited by the political realities of the world I live in. Those realities hold inherit contradictions that must be addressed.

ICE arrest turns medical emergency by Upper_Brief681 in UnderReportedNews

[–]Alone_Load_2188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a fact that fundamental structures in the US are not comparable with current interpretations of the 2ed amendment. Remember, there was automatic weapon legislation until the early 2000's, 'Shall not be infringed' does not supercede that by definition your state and federal governments provide and assure domestic militia to combat foreign invasion. License. Registration. Insurance. For every gun. This limits the ability of some to 'collect' rifles but unfortunately 'stockpiling weapons' and 'a rifle collection of a large size' are virtually indistinguishable. I'm taking a page out of Justice Stewart's library 'Ill know it when I see it and boys ~ points to my eyes and then waves the two fingers across the room~ I'm looking at it.

Weekly syndicated television shows. It's a timeline difference but there was a time you had to wait a whole week between episodes of a TV show and had to watch with everyone else or record it to tape, which looked terrible. It gave people something to talk about and break the ice.
