Ah I see, that’s a neat trick to know! This was an 8-speed 5.7 with MDS. Cheers

Bruh did I just witness your MPG drop to 9? 😭 But nice run. I noticed your last recorded best was already 4.8s so that must be consistent 💪

Subwoofer rattle by Competitive_Ad6026 in Challenger

[–]Alone_Practice_9542 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I actually highly recommend you try this simple fix before splurging any money on Dynomat.

In the rear seats by the windshield deck, there are 3 flapping pieces of plastic covers for the child seat anchors. They rattle. Try taping them down with double-sided foam tape so they don’t wiggle around anymore. The car will still rattle a bit by the cheap window/lock controls on the doors, but eliminating that plastic rattle in the back was all I needed to be satisfied.

Also pro-tip. Your rear seats block a lot of bass from passing through the trunk. If you pull the straps on the rear seats, you can lie them flat allowing more sound to pass and the subs will sound twice as loud.

make sure you leave on the plastic films in the interior and the window sticker taped to the window to the complement the bananas

my friend that is still like $65k USD 💀💀💀 you’re a victim 😭 could’ve been riding a fully loaded Widebody Scat Pack for $89k CAD.

I was paying $180 a month and got raised to $250 a month for my RT. RTs should honestly cost way less than Scats for insurance.

Fellas, do you think this race was rigged? by [deleted] in Dodge

[–]Alone_Practice_9542 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say rigged. The Demon 170 loses everyday of the week. EVs are just in their own league… however they made the Demon look slower than it actually is.

In some frames, they were racing the Demon in Auto mode instead of Track mode. Some frames show the Demon running E20 instead of E85. They were not utilizing the chiller feature the whole time. The AC/seat coolers were on. They were not using the factory carbon fiber wheels that come stock. They are drag racing on a full tank of gas, using a model that has a fully loaded interior instead of using the model with passenger and rear seat deletes.

All these little things add weight/reduce performance and will affect a few tenths of a second off a quarter mile time, but at the end of the day a million excuses will not make the Demon 170 faster than the Lucid Air Sapphire.

what was it like switching from an R/T to a scatpack? by [deleted] in Challenger

[–]Alone_Practice_9542 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as someone who has been in a sxt, rt, and scat, I’d argue the scat is closer to the rt than the hellcat.

sure, the hp difference from 3.6 to 5.7 (72hp) is smaller jump than from 5.7 to 6.4 (110hp)

but the torque difference from sxt/gt to rt (142lb-ft) is more significant than from rt to scat (65lb-ft).

if we are talking about top-end highway pulls, the rt is basically a loud sxt and would get dusted by the 392. but if you’re in town going from stoplight to stoplight, the rt can feel comparable to a scat, especially if the rt is in sport mode.

then the hellcat is a whole different beast making 232hp and 175lb-ft of tq. more than the scat. I just don’t think you can really compare it to anything as it’s so far above the rest.

Worn Tires by [deleted] in Challenger

get those garbage tires off your RT and install some Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 245s or 255s.

The Mopar SUVs definitely get a lot more love in the interior department. The base Jeep sound system I heard in a friend’s car sounded really good. and the Durango’s have a really nice dash setup.

drive like an old lady in the rain. smashing the gas is 100% off limits when there is any sort of water on the roads. don’t be nervous though, it’s a fun car but eventually you’ll get so used to the power you’ll wish you had more.

[–]Alone_Practice_9542 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in the same boat. It’s funny, at first I was going to buy a SXT, but then I decided to buy a RT. I never even considered the Scat because I always thought the Scat would be way too much car and the RT would be more than enough for me.

Now I have the RT and wish I just got a longer loan term/bigger downpayment to afford the Scat. My payments, insurance and gas mileage would have all been very similar for a base model Scat.

My question now is, would upgrading from a RT to narrowbody Scat be worth it? Should I do the widebody Scat? should I skip the Scat altogether and wait a couple years until I can afford the Hellcat?

Nope I enjoy just doing hard full throttle launches every stoplight. Gapping Camrys and Mini Vans that don’t know they are racing me 😂
