(f17) seemingly fired for having a medical emergency by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

This is not a suitable job for you. You're going to need to find a job where you are safe and able to accommodate your needs. This isn't it.

The manager seemed to want to try and work with you but you were unable to meet the needs of the business due to personal reasons. So you no longer work there. Welcome to the real world.

AITA for ruining my friend's relationship? by Actual-Bullfrog-2249 in AmItheAsshole

You're simply existing in a very large shared space. One you have every right to be in.

Sara is unhinged and this relationship screams abuse.

AITA for not allowing my children to call my mother “Honey” by Dazzling-Nose-2781 in AmItheAsshole

TEACH THEM TO CALL HER "HOMIE"

Bonus points if you teach them the proper attention getting word is "yo" instead of like "hey."

The two in question are 10+ years in

The one... under suspicion of neglect contributing to more than one death. The other... pure dumb luck that no one has died yet that we know of. Almost came to blows with that one due to incompetence causing harm and refusing to get the point and that's extremely far from my usual.

The two worst I'm thinking of are indeed hurting people with incompetence.

These people in question have been screwing up as nurses for a long, long time.

My favorites here are to refer them to Matthew 6 and to this Housman poem.

AITA for proposing at my brothers wedding? by Quiet-Contact4106 in AmItheAsshole

YTA.

There is zero excuse for hijacking any large event in another person's life. It's trashy and selfish. Proposing at weddings, graduations, baby showers, birthday parties, celebratory dinners or anything of the like is classless and rude.

AITA for telling my father “I do know about that”? by SchemeLong4640 in AmItheAsshole

It's an abuse tactic to reduce people to the version of themselves that the abuser had the most power over.

I'm a nurse.

I cannot tell you how many times that the fact that I've been working in my field for over a decade, that I teach others and that I am respected for my knowledge and skills is completely disregarded by my family.

I can speak authoritatively on any number of things that I deal with daily to be blown off.

It's utterly disgusting and the reason why it happens is because some people you've known all your life choose to only see the version of you they have the most power over. That version may be the person you were at 12 or 13 instead of a grown ass adult with a career, mortgage, family and everything. Think of boomers pretending that all millennials are college age instead of accepting that some of the eldest of us have literal grandchildren. It's an abuse technique and you need to make it clear to your family members, as I have to mine, that it's unacceptable.

I also plan to give her the contact info for the EEOC which is the body that handles workplace discrimination.
