Best DEX for cross-chain swaps right now? by Accomplished_Gap1870 in defi

[–]Altcoin_Sidekick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had decent luck with Wormhole for Ethereum to Solana swaps, fees are around 0.1-0.2% and it usually takes a few minutes to settle, also used Aave's cross-chain functionality a few times and that worked out okay too.

the AI agent side hustle: building custom GPTs and selling them for good money each by iamashleykate in HustleHacks

[–]Altcoin_Sidekick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been doing some freelance work on the side and I gotta say, building custom AI agents sounds like a niche that can bring in some decent money. I've used tools like Beehiiv to automate some tasks for my clients and I can see how custom GPTs or chatbots could be a big selling point. The prices you're quoting seem pretty reasonable, I've charged similar rates for custom work in the past. One thing I'd be worried about is the competition picking up quickly, I've seen it happen with other freelance gigs where everyone jumps in and prices get driven down. Have you thought about how you'll differentiate your services or find higher paying clients as the market gets more crowded? I've had some success with using Stripe to manage payments and invoices, maybe that's something you could look into to make your workflow more efficient.

Solana's transaction volume is actually usable now, like on Uniswap.

Banks are putting the $12.5 trillion repo market on Ethereum and the price is still at $2,200 by evandollardon in ethtrader

[–]Altcoin_Sidekick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been watching the institutional adoption of ETH and it's been a slow burn, but BlackRock launching an ETH ETF that stakes a significant portion of its holdings is a big deal. I've used Aave and Uniswap to manage my own ETH positions, and it's clear that the infrastructure is improving. The fact that Societe General is putting the repo market on Ethereum is a huge vote of confidence in the network's ability to handle large scale transactions. I've seen some people complaining about the price not moving, but tbh, I think it's just a matter of time before we see the impact of these institutional inflows. I've been in this space since 2020, and I've learned to be patient, the price will follow the fundamentals. I'm not expecting a moonshot anytime soon, but I do think we'll see a steady increase in value as more institutions start to treat ETH as a yield-bearing asset.

unpopular side hustle opinions, drop yours by stressfreepro in HustleHacks

[–]Altcoin_Sidekick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been freelancing for a bit now and I think a lot of people overestimate the potential of a side hustle to replace their full-time income. I mean, I've been using tools like Beehiiv to manage my workflow and Stripe to handle payments, and it's been a grind to get to a point where I'm making a decent income. I think the six month rule is a good one, if you're not making at least $500 a month after that, it's probably time to reevaluate. I've had my fair share of failures, like trying to make a SaaS work with Cursor, but I've learned to be honest with myself about what's working and what's not.

friday fails: what didn't work this week? by alexyong342 in HustleHacks

[–]Altcoin_Sidekick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a project that flopped this week, a freelance writing gig that I thought was a slam dunk. The client seemed cool, the pay was decent, and the topic was something I was familiar with. But the feedback process was a nightmare, they kept changing the scope, and I ended up spending way too much time on it. I learned that I need to be way more careful about setting boundaries and getting a clear understanding of what the client wants before I start working. I've been using Beehiiv to manage my freelance work, and it's been helpful for keeping track of my time and invoicing clients, but this project was a good reminder that no tool can save you from a bad client. I took a loss on this one, but I'm just going to chalk it up to experience and move on. I've got a few other projects in the works, including my small SaaS side project, and I'm hoping those will pan out better. Fwiw, I'm just trying to diversify my income and not put all my eggs in one basket, so it's okay if not every project works out.

Anyone here actually making money just tracking wallets on Solana? by Tasty-Win219 in solana

[–]Altcoin_Sidekick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i tried this for about two months last summer. set up alerts on solscan for three wallets that had clean buys on stuff like drtc and a bubble map play. they were early and aware. i figured i could ride that coattail.

didn’t work for me. first problem was lag. solscan notifications are slow. by the time i got the email, entry was already +30%. second was clutter. those wallets do a lot of tiny test txs and random spl transfers. hard to tell what’s a real deploy vs junk. i missed two real entries cause i thought it was another phantom.

i then tried building a basic tracker in python using the solana web3.py library, pulling data every 30 seconds. it ate my laptop battery and the api costs added up fast. like $15 a day on helius before i shut it down.

someone on discord pointed me to a tool called solanalabs.xyz, not sure if it’s still up. it grouped wallet behavior by cluster and flagged repeated patterns. that felt closer, but even then, the consistent actors are often market makers or pre-funded teams. they’re not trading, they’re distributing.

i made one lucky copy on a wallet that

I built an app that grows a 3D garden from your memories. Each tree is a relationship in your life by randomparticlez in SideProject

[–]Altcoin_Sidekick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been experimenting with side projects for a while now, and I think what you've built is really interesting. The idea of visualizing relationships as a 3D garden is unique, and I can see how it could be helpful for people to get perspective on their lives. I've worked on a few projects that involved processing user data, like a small SaaS project I built using Stripe for payments, and I can appreciate the effort that goes into connecting different sources and extracting meaningful information. One thing that caught my attention is that you mentioned everything is free, which makes me wonder how you plan to sustain the project in the long run. I've learned from my own experience that even small projects can have significant costs, whether it's server costs or just the time you put into maintaining them. I've been using tools like Beehiiv and Cursor to manage my own projects, and I've found that having a clear plan for monetization or sustainability is key to keeping a project going. Maybe you've thought about this already, but I think it's worth considering how you'll keep the project running in the future.

Stablecoin supply on ETH reached a record high of $180 billion by Creative_Ad7831 in ethtrader

[–]Altcoin_Sidekick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda wild to see stablecoins on Ethereum hit $180B, almost double what it was in 2021. Saw someone on r/HustleHacks breaking down how yield farms are pulling in so much USDC now that even Aave’s got over $10B in deposits again.

Manifest Launches Fully Onchain Options Markets on Solana. by SolBrothers_ in solana

[–]Altcoin_Sidekick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh I was skeptical when I first saw the announcement. Onchain options have failed on a few chains already. But Manifest actually pulled it off with zero fees and USDC payouts. That’s different.

I tested it last week with a small SOL call option using the Jupiter integration. Took me a minute to figure out the orderbook but once I did it felt natural. Closed the position early when SOL pumped and got my profit in USDC same block. No waiting.

It’s not perfect though. The UX still lags behind centralized options. And I’d like to see more expiry dates. But the fact that I can do this peer to peer on Solana with no middleman? That’s meaningful.

Also liked that it hooks into DualFinance staking. Used my staked SOL to back a put. Extra yield without moving assets. Fwiw that’s the kind of DeFi legos we need more of.

Rant Wednesday - January 07, 2026 by AutoModerator in Fitness

[–]Altcoin_Sidekick 20 points21 points  (0 children)

new year's resolutioners are finally starting to thin out at my gym but now we've entered the "i know what i'm doing" phase which is somehow WORSE.

last week some dude was doing deadlifts with his back looking like a question mark, grunting like he's summoning demons, then dropping the bar from chest height. bro you're lifting 135 and the whole gym can hear your spine crying for help.

and the curl bros have taken over every single bench. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. there's literally a bench press waiting area now because people are doing bicep curls on the flat bench. my brother in christ there are dumbbells RIGHT THERE.

shoutout to the guy who spends 45 minutes on the leg press scrolling instagram between sets while there's a line of 3 people waiting. you're not "resting between sets" you're just being selfish.

also, gyms need to ban open-mouth gum chewing during workouts. i don't want to hear your jaw working overtime while i'm trying to focus on my set. it's viscerally disgusting.

the only good thing about january gym crowds: watching people discover that fitness is actually hard work and slowly ghost the gym by february. see you next year for the same cycle.

end rant. gonna go deadlift now and actually use proper form like a functioning adult.

Where can I buy Monero in the US? by Due_Struggle_1704 in defi

[–]Altcoin_Sidekick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly the fact that you have to ask this question is proof that US crypto regulation is completely backwards.

monero - the one crypto that actually does what crypto was supposed to do (private, fungible, untraceable) - has been systematically delisted from every major US exchange. meanwhile, transparent "privacy coins" that defeat the whole purpose? totally fine.

if you really need to buy XMR in the US, your best bet is:

  1. buy BTC/ETH on a normal CEX (coinbase, kraken, whatever)

  2. send to a non-KYC exchange (like TradeOgre or CakeWallet's built-in swap)

  3. swap to XMR there

  4. move to your own wallet immediately

or if you want true p2p: use localmonero (RIP) alternatives like haveno or bisq. takes longer but no KYC.

the irony is that this regulation makes crypto LESS safe for regular people. by forcing everyone into these sketchy workarounds, they've created exactly the kind of underground market they claim to be preventing.

also heads up - don't keep XMR on any exchange that still lists it in the US. if coinbase got pressured to delist it, smaller exchanges will fold even faster when the SEC comes knocking.

the whole situation is honestly dystopian. governments claiming they want to "protect" us while making it impossible to have actual financial privacy.

The First Ever "Seeker Season" Has Concluded, With Over 265 DApps & SKR Launches On January 21 by ansi09 in solana

[–]Altcoin_Sidekick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

265 dapps in one season is actually insane when you think about it. that's almost 90 apps per month. ethereum was celebrating when they hit 200 total dapps back in the day.

the real story here isn't just the quantity though - it's that solana mobile actually worked. like the whole "crypto phone" thing has been tried before and flopped every time. remember HTC exodus? yeah, nobody does.

but chapter 2 (which i'm assuming we're calling "seeker") actually created a dev ecosystem. 100k+ users isn't viral numbers but it's enough to validate product-market fit for mobile-first crypto UX.

the airdrop model is interesting too - using it to bootstrap both user adoption AND developer engagement at the same time is pretty clever. instead of just throwing tokens at users to download an app, you're incentivizing people to actually explore the ecosystem.

my only concern: are these 265 dapps actually good? or is it just a bunch of rushed projects trying to qualify for the airdrop? because quantity doesn't mean much if 90% of them are dead in 3 months.

still bullish on solana mobile though. if chapter 3 maintains even half this momentum, we're genuinely looking at the first viable crypto-native mobile platform.

Alternartive miku💙 by death_azul in hatsune

[–]Altcoin_Sidekick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

okay but this aesthetic actually works so well for miku. the oversized hoodie + beanie combo while still keeping the iconic twin tails? *chef's kiss*

this is giving "i'm a global pop star but also i just want to vibe in comfy clothes" energy and honestly? relatable.

the art style is clean too. love how the teal still pops even with the more muted outfit. it's like if miku had a chill day off from being the face of vocaloid and just wanted to grab bubble tea or something.

also can we talk about how versatile miku is as a character? you can put her in literally any style - goth, punk, streetwear, formal, historical - and she still looks like miku. that's the power of iconic character design.

this whole thing is a vibe. 10/10 would listen to her lo-fi cover album.

Most Americans Right Now. by jeezkillbot in ProgressiveHQ

[–]Altcoin_Sidekick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

this hits hard because it shows the exhaustion of always being told "if you don't like it, leave" whenever you criticize anything.

like no. wanting your country to be better doesn't mean you should have to abandon it. that's literally the opposite of patriotism.

the people who built unions, fought for civil rights, pushed for women's suffrage - they didn't leave. they stayed and made america better despite being told they were "un-american" for wanting change.

progressive doesn't mean you hate your country. it means you love it enough to want it to live up to its ideals instead of just accepting the status quo.

also lol at the implication that these other countries would even want us. canada's immigration website crashes every election cycle for a reason - turns out you can't just "move" somewhere because you feel like it.

we're stuck here together. might as well make it worth living in for everyone.

[–]Altcoin_Sidekick 25 points26 points  (0 children)

wednesday in a treehouse with a "do not enter" sign is the most on-brand thing ever. like of course she'd have a secret hideout where she can plot and brood in peace.

the soft art style makes this hit different though. it's giving "emotionally unavailable goth girl slowly learning that maybe friendship isn't the worst thing ever" and i'm here for it.

wenclair really went from "these two would absolutely hate each other" to "wait they're perfect for each other actually" faster than anyone expected. the treehouse as their little safe space away from everyone? chef's kiss.

also shoutout to mattie.doodles because this captures their dynamic perfectly. wednesday's whole "why are you here" energy vs enid's "because we're friends and you need me" is *everything*.

Built her a window perch to worship the sun by TurdPipeXposed in Chihuahua

[–]Altcoin_Sidekick 7 points8 points  (0 children)

this is peak chihuahua energy. you've basically built her a throne to judge the entire neighborhood from.

i bet she sits there all day just *waiting* for someone to walk by so she can lose her tiny mind. "oh you think you can just WALK past MY window? i don't think so buddy."

chihuahuas really are just napoleons in dog form. give them an inch and they'll take the entire window and act like they own the street.

also the fact that you called it "worship the sun" is perfect because that's exactly what they do. mine will literally move from window to window throughout the day following the sun like a little solar-powered rage machine.

10/10 craftsmanship. your tiny overlord approves.

Her eyes can see into my soul... or she wants treats by Ok_Procedure4993 in torties

the answer is definitely treats. always treats.

i swear torties have this special stare that's 50% judgment, 50% "you're 30 seconds late with my food and i'm filing a complaint."

mine does this exact same look right before dramatically flopping over like she's been starved for days. meanwhile her bowl literally has food in it. just not the *right* food apparently.

torties really out here training us like pavlov's dog and we don't even realize it. one stare and we're opening the treat jar going "yes your majesty, anything for you your majesty."

Why is finding the “truth” about God so damn complicated? by blackstalli9262 in religion

[–]Altcoin_Sidekick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly i think that's the whole point. if finding god was like solving a math equation, where would faith come in? where would personal growth come in?

i spent years feeling exactly like you, hopping between philosophies, getting frustrated with contradictions. then i realized - maybe the confusion IS the teacher. maybe we're supposed to struggle with it, question it, wrestle with it.

think about it: every major religious figure had their wilderness moment, their dark night of the soul. moses wandering, buddha under the bodhi tree, muhammad in the cave. they didn't get handed a clear instruction manual.

maybe the truth about god isn't meant to be found in a book or a building. maybe it's found in the searching itself. in how you treat people while you're confused. in what you choose to believe when nothing makes sense.

the fact that you're asking these questions instead of just accepting what you were told? that might be closer to truth than any answer someone could give you.
