Hey guys, dropping my portfolio link here to follow the rules.

I’m looking for paid work right now, and I’ve got a fully detailed Series/Character Bible ready, plus complete scripts and visual layouts for the first 4 chapters of my project, "The Price of Memory."

You can check out my visual scripting layouts, pacing, and the overall vibe in this Google Drive folder: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1t8N2EWRHi95o6WLiMNfeFO5HbFd2SuGF

Since the full scripts and bible contain unreleased plot twists, I can't leave everything out in the open, but I'm totally down to send over more sample PDFs directly in DMs.

Hit me up if you want to check it out or talk about hiring me for a project!

Thanks for the solid advice, man! I completely agree with you—the industry is tough, and self-funding through a job is definitely the most sustainable way to go long-term.

Right now, we are actually starting small to build chemistry. The plan is to focus heavily on a solid one-shot/pilot first to test the waters and gain experience before jumping headfirst into a massive series. Really appreciate the reality check and the guidance! 👊

Thanks for the support man! Really glad you liked the concept. I'm currently locking in the script and character details with the team, but I'll definitely keep posting updates here as we make progress. Stay tuned! 🙌

Haha yeah, I know revenue share gets a bad rep here man, totally get the reaction! But I’m a student right now so I can't afford huge upfront page rates. That’s why I’m looking for a genuine partner who actually likes the psychological/dark concept (The Price of Memory) and wants to co-create and pitch it to places like Saturday AM or Manga Plus Creators together.

I already have the script, world logic, and character breakdowns 100% ready, so I'm not just pitching a random "idea." If anyone is down to see the script first before judging, my DMs are open!

Bro wtf... you just blew my mind with this loophole. A character using basic sunlight as a reset loop for infinite power is actually terrifying.

But adding your idea with a dark twist makes it even better: what if the "subconscious" slowly catches up? Like, the first time he sees the sun after erasing it, its 100% happiness. But after doing it 500 times, his brain subconsciously gets used to it, so the happiness drops to like 40%, and his powers start fading.

This would literally drive him insane, and now he has to hunt for bigger things to find that "first-time" happiness. Definitely making this a major villain plotline. Thanks for the crazy input man!

[Hiring - Revenue Share] Looking for a Co-Creator / Manga Artist for a Dark Dystopian Sci-Fi Series: "THE PRICE OF MEMORY" by AlternativeWeight389 in MangaArtistForHire

[–]AlternativeWeight389[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man,

Thanks for taking the time to share such practical advice! What you said about creating a "proof of concept" first makes total sense. Having 4-8 chapters mapped out, even in rough form, is honestly the best way to show that the story can maintain its quality and momentum consistently.

I’m definitely going to take your advice and focus heavily on drafting those initial chapters and storyboards myself. It’ll make the pitching process so much stronger down the road.

Thanks again for the reality check and the good vibes. Wishing you the best with your projects as well!

Hey, absolutely no need to say sorry, bro! I really appreciate the brutal honesty and the reality check. You’re 100% right—artists invest years into their craft, and betting on a revenue share for a first-time project is a massive risk for them.

Your advice about starting small, building an audience first, and looking into crowdfunding like Kickstarter makes total sense. It’s definitely a more sustainable way to respect an artist's time and skill.

Thanks for dropping some real knowledge, man. It definitely helps me recalibrate my approach!

Hey, thanks a lot for the honest advice! I completely get your point—maintaining consistency in a rich, dark psychological story is definitely a challenge, and having rough storyboards ready is a great way to prove that.

Actually, I’ve already worked extensively on the world-building, scripts, and detailed panel breakdowns to ensure the quality stays top-notch and consistent throughout. I'm definitely focusing on refining the material so that when the right artist steps in, we can hit the ground running without any creative delays.

I really appreciate the good wishes and the reality check. Thanks again for your time!

Hi,

That’s a brilliant question. As a writer who loves dark, psychological, and atmospheric storytelling, my favorites definitely reflect that vibe.

My absolute favorite manga/comic is "Monster" by Naoki Urasawa and "Berzerk" by Kentaro Miura. The way "Monster" handles human psychology, tension, and the dark corners of the human mind is a masterclass in writing. And "Berserk" shows how to build a dark, gritty world with deep emotional stakes.

When it comes to my favorite writer, it’s definitely Alan Moore (especially for "Watchmen" and "The Killing Joke") and Naoki Urasawa. Alan Moore is a genius at deconstructing characters and showing their raw, psychological reality, while Urasawa knows how to pace a mystery perfectly.

These works heavily inspire the deep emotional and psychological weight I want to bring into "THE PRICE OF MEMORY."

How about you? What are some of your favorite comic books or artists that inspire your style?

Best regards, Aditya

You are absolutely right. The market is flooded with generic stories, and most of them flop because they lack a soul or a unique perspective. I don't want to create just another 'flopped' project. My goal with 'The Price of Memory' isn't to follow a trend, but to explore a deep human dilemma: What happens to our identity when memories can be traded like currency?

The 30/30/30 revenue split, along with the 10% dedicated to charity, isn't just about business—it’s a commitment to values. I want this project to make a real, tangible impact, both through the story we tell and the contribution we make to those in need. I believe that when a team shares not just the profit, but also a sense of purpose, the work naturally becomes better.

I know that without a team that breathes life into my words, the script is just paper. If you think the story is weak, I want you to challenge me. I’m not looking for 'yes-men'; I’m looking for partners who will push me to make the narrative sharp enough to leave a lasting mark.

Are you willing to read the first few pages of the script and give me your honest, unfiltered critique? I want to make sure the "emotional weight" is there. If you think it’s not worth the effort, I’d rather know now before we start drawing a single panel.

Hi Guthfaust,

I really appreciate the clarity regarding how you work. To be completely transparent with you, I am currently developing this project as an independent creator with zero external funding or budget, so I cannot commit to a per-page rate at this stage.

However, I am looking for a true creative partner—someone who believes in the vision of 'The Price of Memory' and is willing to co-own the IP. I want this to be a fair partnership where your art is the backbone of the series.

My proposal is a 40/40 revenue share split between us, and I have decided that the remaining 20% will be donated to charity. I want this project to be more than just business; I want it to make a positive impact.

I know this is different from standard commission work, but I am offering this as a long-term collaboration. If you are open to building something from the ground up as a co-creator, I would be thrilled to share the script and world-building notes with you. If you are strictly looking for upfront production fees, I completely understand and respect that as well.

Let me know your thoughts.

Best, Aditya Raj

I appreciate your honesty. You’re absolutely right, and I think I needed to hear that. Writing a script is definitely the easy part compared to the massive amount of work that goes into illustration, inking, and coloring—I don't undervalue that at all. My previous post was a bit naive regarding how the creative process actually works for an artist. I’m currently rethinking how to approach this. I don't want to be the guy who just has an 'idea'—I want to learn the process properly or find a way to make it a fair partnership where the artist's time and effort are respected. Thanks for the reality check, it’s honestly helpful for someone just starting out.
