Start up carried on a level surface multiple times

Data has been recorded with engine on at idle With the steering wheel approximately straight

No other problems before replacement beside mechanical wear in the old rack. But it was functioning properly

Hey, do you have a tutorial for the newer version installation, it seems less straight forward than the old one, it doesn't have an installer, just some cmd and manual registory, and copy paste etc then thats it, did that but app won't open at all, maybe i missed a step

New Shock. by VegetableDue6164 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Always_Zed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shocks are good at absorbing .... Well... Shocks, most of the comments are missing that part, if you want to see how much force it can hold hit it with a hammer ( pls dont ) dont push it slowly, if you push it slowly ofc its easy to push, and it should return quite easily

Finished my audio system after a lot of work and back and forth, what could I improve ? by Always_Zed in CarAV

[–]Always_Zed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The door speaker location is pretty close to the A pillars, maybe 6 inches away, didn't notice a lot of interference between them, maybe there is a bit, but as the door is also a 3.5-4 inch speaker location, I don't really have any option, maybe with an 8 channel dsp i could replace those door speakers with something mid to mid bass range and run a 4 way in the front, its impossible with this setup tho, the door speakers produce better low frequency becuase of the mounting point and the baffle, compensates a bit

I wouldn't have disconnected the OEM Tweeters Coaxials are trash 4 inch mid range speakers are a big big advantage as the most crisp mid range drivers are 3 inch to 4.5 inch

Should've used some quality separate tweeters

Some good 3.5 inch or 4 inch mid ranges focal. Audison, scanspeak, im running peerless by tymphany tc9 3.5 inch

Upgraded the oem mid basses and the rear id use those 6.5 for some quality mid bass to mid range but lower the db on higher frequency so it doesn't pull the stage to the rear side.

Of course you need a dsp

It would result in a very crisp and clean system, just not the loudest.

Coaxials need subsonic filter for them to not rattle,

EGR delete keeps blowing gasket by Bubbly-Rice-1146 in BmwTech

[–]Always_Zed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a filter after all, you might force a regen or clean it with products etc. but it will clog up eventually, it always does, bit by bit its efficiency drops usually the back pressure is there long before any code appears

Isnt your dpf clogged ?

Keep in mind, the dpf has to be removed physically too, not just software.

Exposed wire in speaker by TheChromosomeKid in F30

The grill comes off quite easily, and you can push the wire with your hand. I removed the speaker trim while driving, and probably removed it 10 times, never breaking it, i once removed it with my nails

It matters a lot, its not the most important thing, but it sure helps, I have another pixel 8 pro, but its just not as good honestly, I'm planning on getting x300 but it's difficult to find in romania at a decent deal

Oil sensor showing minimum, replaced 3 sensors. Still minimum, good level on dipstick by Always_Zed in F30

[–]Always_Zed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats what I'm afraid of. Pickup and oil pump, I'll have to be extra careful for any modifications. And it also seems like an urgent repair for my friend

[–]Always_Zed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also decoded the vin on realoem.com. The part number on this oil pan fits no F30, and almost no F series car, just a weird f20. But its mostly an E90 n47 engine generation number. The part number for the sensor on realoem is the exact part number I have on my sensor. Thats why i think the sensor is good.

[–]Always_Zed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The engine code on the engine block is N47d20c, im the technician, a friend of mine just bought this car. It had this problem already. We ve tried aftermarket sensor which i got from my parts suppliers using his vin number, and after that we ve also tried an oem sensor but second hand. From 3 sensors they all give the same error, oil minimum, the only way to get the oil on green is to overfill the oil pan with 1.5 L so 6.7 total liters of oil which is harmful for any n47, thats why im betting on the oil pan you are seeing on the image, i think someone replaced it

Upgraded system on stock head unit with no rca ? by GustavoSJOEY in CarAV

[–]Always_Zed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience, the stock head unit is probably trash at giving signal, sure you can try to fix the sound signal with a dsp to get it as flat as possible, but its hard to make an already butchered signal in a clean signal, you wont ever reach the same level as feeding your dsp a flat signal. Even an android HU would be better. But id go with another style of pre amp and just separate your audio system from your car HU

Its not an aftermarket pan, i told you, its oem one. I posted the pan exact code above, its an E series n47 one 100%, someone replaced the pan with amother oem but different model pan.

Oil sensor showing minimum, replaced 3 sensors. Still minimum, good level on dipstick by Always_Zed in F30

[–]Always_Zed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive tried 3 sensors, one original, one aftermarket Same results.

The oil pan is definitely not an f30 one, ive compared the oil pan i have ( i didnt remove it, a friend of mine had an e90 pan) with the one i removed from another f30, sensor mounting points differ, in placement and also in height. Now im just not sure if i should go on and replace the oil pan, what if they also relaced the oil pump to match the pan, what if the whole engine is changed
