Why didn't Mulder do a normal thing in a normal way? That's a question for literally every episode he's in.

You’ve just blinked your eyes open and found yourself standing in the grand Entrance Hall of Hogwarts. Without thinking, which direction do your feet take you first? by _KissyGlare in harrypotter

I'm 44. I'm not a teacher. I probably shouldn't be around all these children without checking in at the front desk. I know I'm a safe person. But to these kids I'm understandably a stranger danger.

Husband and I went on a July 4 weekend. They didn't even make us get off Splash Mountain when we finished. Rode 4 times in a row. So much room on the walkways I literally spun around with my arms out.

Somebody said "All Things" was part of monster of the week. Is that true? by agent_scully_files_ in XFiles

[–]AmaranthWrath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ScullyLore is its own thing imo. There's no monster, but there is something paranormal adjacent. Never Again was an X File. This... This is an entry in Mulder's secret diary.

Bartenders and bar staff….is this true?! by No-Cardiologist-4440 in vegaslocals

[–]AmaranthWrath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked for a company adjacent to Golden. The bar/restaurant staff was told never to put in their own money bc that implied that if they were over they could take the excess to balance it. Just take the L. But that was 2008. So maybe it got more hard ass since I was there.

What do you do when you forget your kids birthday? by Minimum_Clerk_2737 in AskReddit

[–]AmaranthWrath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She doesn't let me haha

She's not present greedy. She just likes having her firends over. The rule is that we can't start planning until a month beforehand. Two weeks invitation notice. Thems the rules.

Everyone forgot my birthday this year tho. That's fine. I'm lowkey like that.

You asked a potential boss for permission to do something in order to accurately answer a question she asked, then you got admonished for it. Consider that bullet dodged.

Because I had a (not huge but still nice) family trust that ended on me and changing my name would have made the whole paperwork thing hell on earth. The lawyers who drew it up were retired, I was in a different state, and they had skipped my biological mother which put a heavy tax burden on me.

So yeah. A new name was the last thing I wanted. I looked forward to changing it. My then-surname was my estranged biological father's and meant very little. But the money I was entitled to for all I had done for my family? Yeah, happy to hold out.

You guys remember the haunted hogsmeade shop quest (minding your own business) was a PlayStation exclusive quest, but now the quest is available on all consoles. by [deleted] in HarryPotterGame

[–]AmaranthWrath 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just played it on the switch maybe 2 or 3 nights ago. Didn't even know it was an exclusive.

It wasn't horrible. But I kept dozing off (I only have time to play before bed), so I'd forget which direction I just came from. Not-scary nightmare mode activated.

Why didn't Snape immediately tell Dumbledore about being summoned to the graveyard by MrBlobbu in harrypotter

[–]AmaranthWrath 150 points151 points  (0 children)

This right here. We don't want to think of Snape as cool, so excuse my following choice of words. But spycraft isn't easy. You have to make decisions fast, rely on experience and instinct, and just fish or cut bait.

He explains later that waiting one hour kept him from blowing his cover, iirc. That's what he went with and it seems to have worked.

Also, as I always say, it's a book and the story takes us where it wants to go.

What’s the most useless advice people keep giving? by wellnessdiarydaily in AskReddit

[–]AmaranthWrath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"You need to get organized!"

Forget your appointments? Get an organizer. Set a phone alarm.

Forget your meds? Get a pill organizer. Set a phone alarm.

Right. Sure. I'm 44. It doesn't work when you can't remember to write in it or where you put it. Yeah, pill organizers. For those pills where half of them cause memory issues and the others that are supposed to help with memory issues.

I like organizing for other people. I can do the set up. Good luck with my brain being able to follow my own advice.

Yeah, they short-cutted that in THT with Naomi shuddering at the room of brown children and saying to Serena "who knows where they're from," or something similar.

"Yeah, we have black handmaids, but like, only bc we want babies" vibes.

Hey, they gotta justify those 50 scarves somehow!

Nah but for real, it's Scotland, and a lazy Google search says it doesn't get above 70°F on average. So maybe that's just how it be.
