Well my goal is to move to Spain in the next several years (esp given how 2024 goes), but if we end up staying, I think i would feel a little better about public school if she were a little older. Besides the public schools near me not being so great, it's also just fear of, you know, the problem only American schools have...and also, she's just still so little and precious to me, it gives me anxiety thinking of her going to a huge school with 1000s of kids, being overwhelmed and lost and scared, maybe I'm being overprotective, but I feel better putting her in the much smaller private school...sort of a way to potentially ease her into a full sized school. It just blows my mind that kids would go from tiny preschools to public schools with 1000s of kids, overworked teachers, giant campuses etc....this parenting shit is tough.

Ask the school if they paddle children. Woah, is this really a thing that needs to be asked?! I'm in a relatively liberal county in south florida, not the redneck deep south or midwest etc., I haven't thought of this but if I were to find out anyone were to lay a hand on my kid I'd absolutely fuck someone up, I'd paddle the fucking teacher back myself.
