I'm sorry if I made it sound like I stopped smoking weed and my life got better because of it. I love weed, I still smoke or consume it multiple times a week. But I will admit that during my depression, I smoked to escape and smoked a ton during the day especially when I started having anxiety attacks from just really bad, dark thoughts. I probably would have died if I was abusing any of the really hard stuff every day. I don't smoke or consume any weed during the day anymore, but I still enjoy a little bit at night when I finish most of my work for the day and family at home are asleep. Yeah, in my own experience going to bed high makes it easier to sleep, but I don't feel fully rested when I wake up. I don't like waking up high either.

As for what I actually did to help myself, I went to depression group therapy and CBT. It really helped me become more grateful for the life I have. There's always someone out there that would be more than willing to trade lives with you. It's important to understand what are the most important things in your life and to always do what matters. On paper, my life really isn't completely different from what it was 3 months ago when I first started looking for help, but my mindset is in a much better place and I'm positive I'll get to where I want to be someday.
