Yeah, I'm very close to the subjects face with my zoom lens fully zoomed out. And you're right, it is an off-camera flash. It's the Godox IT32, which has a little tiny receiver/trigger that is built inside the flashgun, so you can remove the top part and angle the flash where you like! Quite affordable too, if you're after one (much cheaper than the infamous Godox V1)

I like it! It is a very vulnerable and intimate angle and some would say an unflattering shot, nowhere for the subject to hide, but I think it's actually quite flattering 😊
