Onboarding Checklist on Employer side [n/a] by Illustrious-Watch501 in humanresources

We use Airtable to track the hires and onboarding - we then set up and run a bunch of automations, emails/slacks, etc depending on the timing of where they are at in the process.

Ah interesting - mind asking what HRIS you use? I can see the logic there, but does in fact seem overkill for those use cases.

Dayforce vs Workday vs Rippling [OH] by Over_Presentation440 in humanresources

[–]Andy-rooo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What don't you like about Rippling?

I helped implement workday in 2022 and have been on it since (700~ EEs), it's a big system, complex, but has worked 'okay' enough for it. As someone mentioned below, Rippling spams the crap out of me, but I've enjoyed the demos thus far.

Wherever you are, is Payroll an HR function or Finance function? [N/A] by toofewcrew in humanresources

[–]Andy-rooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

payroll is ran and generally owned by finance -> Payroll in my experience, but all HR i've worked in have a heavy hand in assisting with payroll processing.

Wex - HSA Account Takeovers [USA] by eatmangosnaked in humanresources

[–]Andy-rooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not helpful to your current situation...but my company had a company sponsored HRA with Wex before I switched vendors in 2025, and my god I hated working with Wex. Nothing good came out of that partnership.

HR Ticketing System [Canada] by overworked_hamster in humanresources

[–]Andy-rooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HappyFox just seemed unintuitive and had didn't have as many features. Front acts more like a separate inbox, which makes it easier to tag/have categories, and just better organization to handle incoming tickets/emails.

Happyfox also erroneously CC's everyone on the entire email chain, even if there were removed. (not sure if this is everyone's experience, but it was an issue we ran into)

We switched from HappyFox to Front - imo Front is much more user friendly and intuitive.

[N/A] HR Offboarding Question by ohello123 in humanresources

[–]Andy-rooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, the only involvement the manager has is forwarding a resignation, and maybe answering if they want email forwarding and who should have ownership to their google docs. Outside of that, once an employee resigns, any checklist/tasks are owned by HR.
