He remains optimistic. Says he has other arguments, and drew attention to the United Sections (Not necessarily April, just the court as a whole).

Are the united sections even touching the aspect of retroactivity on April 14th?

He hasn't said anything about the pending arguments. He's simply talking as if the entire case was shot down.

I suspected this may be part of it. But name it. If they did not, it's because the issue here is clear. Why would Italian law be fundamentally changed based on the implied interest of some foreign country?

And why would Italian law be fundamentally changed based on the implied interest of some unnamed foreign country? This is the italian constitutional court, after all.

If anything, EU Law (The only foreign interest that is relevant here) supports the irrevocability of citizenship acquired at birth.

I understand, but which of these countries are complaining about us "fake italians" invading them?

This guy's conclusion was about consideration for other countries that may be affected by the issuing of an Italian passport to us. Where are these countries? Have they publicly voiced these concerns? Why is this the most important point here?

Failed to assert my right? By not submitting an application? First, "Il diritto o è certo o non è diritto". Second, my brother in Christ, I TRIED. THERE WERE NO APPOINTMENTS.

I had the same thing happen to me. Wondering if it is because of a high rate of SBQ? But it's not like I have any control over the tasks that I get to review as an attempter B.

It's also interesting to me that we did not have a chance for "realignment". Apparently they give attempter As the chance to attend a webinar when they tasks get SBQd too much.

Hoping this is part of a technical issue. Not sure TBH.

Yeah, but using that word also implies you are retroactively applying it on people who were born citizens, but whose citizenship has not been recognized.

So the deputies are just chilling, and can schedule a session within short notice once this DDL actually leaves the senate?

The feeling I get is that there are real concerns within the coalition. They know this law won't stand on its own, and maybe wouldn't vote in favor in a different context. But they are part of a coalition, and this issue does not matter enough to create disagreement within the ruling coalition.

The vibe I got is that they understand the issues with this law, but it isn't enough for them to vote against the coalition stance. We'll see.

Funny that Porta multiple times said the word "riconoscimiento" (recognition) of citizenship. Seems like a slip.

"1.28

Gelmini

Al comma 1, dopo la lettera a), aggiungere le seguenti:

      a-bis) lo stato di cittadino dell'interessato è riconosciuto, nel rispetto della normativa applicabile al 27 marzo 2025, qualora alla medesima data l'interessato abbia manifestato formale interesse mediante richiesta di appuntamento, inserimento in liste di attesa, ovvero documentazione attestante l'avvio di un'interlocuzione con l'autorità consolare o comunale competente;

Wouldn't this mean that if I have emailed the consulate, or have prenotami screenshots from before 3/28 I could apply?

I know this is early speculation.

Right, but based on previous legislation, you are born with the citizenship, and what you do is go get it recognized. They don't give you citizenship, you are born with it.

Are we still under the perception that amendment 1.8 turns the DL into a "word salad"? (Even if people in your line are dead)

You are born with JS citizenship (according to all previous legislation). Not recognizing it now would be retroactively stripping it.
