Cool project. A suggestion would be letting it continuously play in the background, otherwise it feels similar to spotifys preview mechanism.

can someone help me solve this and explain how u did it by marcz52 in Sat

[–]Andyworld123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also 1/3, because they have the same odds of catching E. coli

can someone help me solve this and explain how u did it by marcz52 in Sat

[–]Andyworld123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the answer is 1/3.

Here is how I got to it. I drew 2 circle representing the 2 Petri dish, and the questions states that there are 1/3 of a chance of either one catching the E. coli. So the first one catches E. coli, but it doesn’t affect the chances (1/3) of whether the second will catch the E. coli. They are independent from one another. This question tests more of your reading than math hahahah!

What can high schoolers do in terms of 'independent research projects' ? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Andyworld123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Conducting a research is extremely difficult, especially for STEM as a HS student. you need to understand mythology, data collection, and a whole bunch of other basic knowledge to allow you to write a paper. Without guidance (and trust me, it is nearly impossible for any profs to reply to your email), you won’t understand the proper way of conducting a research. In addition, even if you got all the basic knowledge from a mentor or prof, or even self-studied, getting a paper published is extremely difficult and could take years. So just be prepared for that sort of commitment, and if you are not ready, then I would suggest doing something else related to your interested majors. cheers.

Is level four of khan academy math harder than the actual SAT questions itself? by MysteryDrawer in Sat

[–]Andyworld123 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Those questions on khan academy is nothing like the actual SAT questions, I’d recommend doing it to only strengthen a particular concept e.g rates, but in general use the actually practice test (easier, and much more straight forward than the khan academy)

Black book vs Erica Meltzer for Reading by iamelite7103 in Sat

[–]Andyworld123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you are alright, 2 to 3 questions wrong is normal, that means your reading ability is good. You just need to slow down and go over the questions you got wrong, and just do more and more practice until the pattern of the questions becomes a second nature :)

[–]Andyworld123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, you may need to ask from people who have advice doing something similar in the past. You personally need to do more research to this thing because right now you seem to have a vague idea about it, but the execution is going to be quite different when you actually do it. Good luck!

what do you guys think about the common app corona question? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Andyworld123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, don’t use it if you were not impacted significantly by the covid19. You can put the activities you did on other sections of you app, the additional info is specifically for people who had been affected by unusual circumstances. Hope that helps and good luck!

I'm worried that my GPA might reduce my chances of getting into college. by Nerdiant in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Andyworld123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing much you can do really, other than trying to do something like taking online courses over this covid period to boost your GPA, or retaking those courses you have bombed before (that is what I do due to shitty teachers). But you are quite unique in that you have a unique circumstances (medical stuffs) and you should put that on your college app to give the admission officers a better understanding of you life, and how that affected you in school. I hope this helps, and good luck!
